He is the best because he refuses not to be the best,he puts the work in and reaps the benefits,he has a gift and keeps his gift finely tuned. If Cotto or anyone else thinks Cotto will beat Floyd you better wake up slap the sh1t out of ya'lls self and come back to reality.Floyd is the KING OF THE RING........he is the best around and will show ya'll how great he is..............
If JLC wanted to win a decsion he should have started trying to win way sooner~ he lost five of the first six rounds which means he would have to sweep the rest of the rounds to win with no knockdowns even taking into account the point deductions because it was one a piece.
The last six round were tough and close but were much closer than the first six.
I don't see how that is a clear JLC win, the first half was clearly Floyd's the second half JLC did better but it was still very give and take and Floyd fought his ass off to not get overrun.
JLC had no intention of winning on the cards though he intended on knocking Floyd out, he failed in his plan and he lost because he failed to do so.
Floyd is undefeated because he chose to fight the best when they weren't prime!!! Not in all cases mind you, but there were a lot of fights out there that were really dangerous and he didn't want nothin to do with them at the time. That being said he's still an amazing fighter!!!
Pac is a welterweight. Floyd is also a welterweight. They are both small welterweight fighters.
Pac has the much bigger torso and bigger legs, Floyd has like an inch in height and longer arms. Both small for the weight class.
Pac could still make JWW if he wanted to
no way Floyd could at this point
he couldn't cut down to the catchweight in the JMM fight in 09
Floyd doesn't go up much on fight night like other WW's do
but physically, he's still a legit WW
don't think Pac is, he stays at WW for bigger money
he'd have no problem making 140
Never really thought about this but that makes Floyd's win over Marquez semi-respectable actually since Marquez went on to trouble Pacquiao
Floyd didn't prove anything in that fight
that's actually why everybody thought Pac would smoke JMM
people thought about JMM vs Floyd and saw WW as too much for JMM
the difference is, Floyd is a real WW and Pac isn't
Floyd was 2 divisions up, Pac was only 1
Pac being at WW recently fooled people into thinking he's a WW
physically, he isn't, he's still just a JWW
he looked good boxing against bigger, slower men
against a smaller guy who can box himself, Pac looked like crap boxing
and only dumbasses thought Marquez would be another walk in the park. they'll never learn that boxers will always trouble pac
JMM wasn't discounted based on skill or age
even past 35, he's been knocking dudes out left and right
his technical game is still world class
JMM was discounted based on size
people forgot Pac isn't a real WW himself
he wasn't visibly bigger and more powerful like expected
people knew JMM had the style, it's proven in 2 previous fights
they thought size alone was the determining factor
maybe, maybe not. i agree floyd was a bit greedy, but manny shoulda taken what was offered cause it still woulda been the most hes ever made, and its lookin real real good right now...
What Pac gets 40 mil and Mayweather gets 100+mil yeah great deal for Pac lol ffs
u make this type of thread youll get 20 pages of flom0s s@cking floyds d!ck
works the hardest?
going to vacations and fights ones a year??? is that wat u call working hard???
where is your brain larry?
Have you ever thought of how stupid you look dedicating your entire boxingscene account, avatar, signature, posts, and all, to a boxer you hate?
Just something to think about.
And you don't think the way people viewed Castillo as nothing but an easy fight prediction skewed people's perception on how they saw the fight while it was going on?
You're having double standards here.
no double standards here
only dumbasses saw Castillo as a walkover for Floyd
it was understandable for people to think Pac-JMM 3 would be easy
not so with Castillo vs Floyd
Castillo didn't dominate Floyd, either. It was a weird fight to score. They were still both clear victories for the other guy though. Like Mosley/Delahoya 1.
Castillo controlled the 2nd half of the fight, not the whole way
he got Floyd to stop boxing and fight with him
thought the rds won by both guys were pretty clear
Castillo had the edge and Floyd's deduction hurt him
Pac tried to box JMM in the 3rd fight and it wasn't the right plan
he did ok, but he was in a tit for tat fight that wasn't supposed to be
predictions for that fight skewed peoples' thoughts on the outcome
saw that as an even fight that either guy coulda won by 1 point
Yeah, Pac hung his head in shame in the 3rd fight. He knew he didn't deserve that decision. I know the feeling of getting gifted in fights.
that fight was a cherrypick
Pac thought JMM had nothing for him
he knew he was made to look stupid since he was supposed to win by KO
he failed to do that, but that doesn't mean he lost outright
he deserves the criticism he's gotten for that fight
just not seeing how JMM "dominated" him
he kept him from looking like a juggernaut, which no one expected
JMM has gotten extra credit for that since he was supposed to get KO'd
those 2 fought evenly in the 3rd fight, nobody dominated
Agreed. I've always said Floyd lost to Castillo, regardless, he avenged the defeat handily. It doesn't mean Floyd loses his standing, he came back and avenged a possible loss which is what champions do. If anything it makes him greater. Pacquiao's greatness takes a hit because he was outboxed twice by Marquez after that first fight, and once in a fight that was out of Marquez' weight class by two classes.
That looks bad IMO.
never said Floyd loses his standing as a great fighter
just don't view him as undefeated, thought he unarguably lost to JLC
and don't dispute his win in the rematch, never have
and getting outboxed isn't a crime unless it leads to a defeat
Pac only outboxes bigger guys, he's an attacker with smaller guys
JMM matched Pac the 2nd time, he just suffered a crucial KD
that 3rd rd stole Pac a razor thin win
agreed Pac looked bad in the 3rd fight
it was a shit fight for him to take and he looked ish
doesn't take anything away from his overall greatness though
just from the HBO hype that he's evolved into a great boxer, he hasn't
it cold have went either way, wasnt he hurt? no excuses but when i saw the fight i though castillio won but ive watched it again and it could clearly go either way... well to be fair they had a immediate rematch.... and floyd won
nobody disputes the rematch, Floyd beat him straight up
it cold have went either way, wasnt he hurt? no excuses but when i saw the fight i though castillio won but ive watched it again and it could clearly go either way... well to be fair they had a immediate rematch.... and floyd won
yep he had a shoulder injury and went on to fight anyway still beating him, and then completely dominated him in the rematch with no injury
I had Castillo beating Mayweather. And I had Marquez beating Pacquiao twice. So do I now get to hand out fake victories to them?
Floyd 41-1 and Pac now only has a draw against Marquez?
if that's what you saw, that's what you state
think Montell beat Roy? Chavez earned his Whitaker draw?
what we clearly see is not always what the judges say
if you feel a loss/win/draw, was incorrect, you say so
don't piggyback official results or public majority
assess a fighter's record as you personally see it
think Castillo won and JMM won?
don't hold your tongue because the judges don't agree with you
say it, and if debated, back it up
http://i41.tinypic.com/2py6xk7.jpg
hmm I wonder out of the 24% who voted Pac won, how many were from "Knights of Ako Pa ha?"
Anyway, I saw Marquez beating Pac 8-4 rounds. Simple as that.
I saw Marquez outboxing Pacquiao throughout the fights.
you saw this the entire fight all 3 times?
if that's what you're saying, we can end this debate
you think JMM shut Pac out, stopped him from doing anything at all?
Well I, along with 90% of NSB and credible boxing sources saw Marquez beat Pacquiao.
So there we have it, Marquez beat Pac.
you defend what you saw, not other people
back it up, tell us in detail what you saw, break it down
That's all it is. His biases are a bit too transparent to be taken seriously.
don't cop out, we're having a good talk here
no gayweather vs Pacroid bullshit, come with real observations
defend your stance, how did Floyd beat Castillo?
don't have a problem with Floyd claiming he's undefeated
the man can say whatever he wants
but we saw him get beat by Castillo the 1st time and get a gift
not arguing Floyd's record, arguing the merit of his 1st JLC "win"
Nobody is claiming anything. It is a FAKT!!
Check boxrec br0
no one disputes Floyd is better than Pac
we're talking about greatness here
Floyd is the better fighter, Pac is the greater fighter
Pac's losses don't deny him his greatness
2 of them were when he was a damn kid
we're talking about what we saw, not what the judges said
dude, Castillo overpowered Floyd, he won clearly
Pac beat JMM, closely, but also clearly
the 1st fight was decisive, 7-5 Pac plus KD points
2nd fight woulda been a draw without the KD
that 3rd round stole Pac the fight
neither guy dominated the 3rd fight
both guys did ok, Pac just underperformed
JMM bested the expectations of his performance
that opens the door for people to complain
wouldn't argue if JMM got the 3rd fight, but he lost
Well I, along with 90% of NSB and credible boxing sources saw Marquez beat Pacquiao.
So there we have it, Marquez beat Pac.
