So Pacman beats Martinez at 154, how??

pac fan here but he won't beat martinez at 154 and he'd be pretty crazy to even try going up to that weight. manny came in at under 147 for his 150 fight against margarito. upping the weight limit does nothing for him as he would still have to come in at around 147 to avoid losing speed from bulking up. in effect, he will be giving away 7 lbs at weigh-in and around 20 lbs on fight night to a guy who's freakishly strong and fast at 160. he'll get in more shots against martinez but those won't do enough damage to slow him down. martinez will wear him down and eventually knock him out later (or earlier if he gets hit by that shot that got williams). i'd give him a 50/50 shot if the met at 150 lbs and about an 80% chance if they were both natural at the same weight (eliminating size differences and just going by style/skill). i expect floyd to fairly easily outbox martinez at 154 and play with him at 150

He wouldn't beat Martinez! Martinez is too SLICK and too quick...LATERALLY! He is not a fighter that only goes forward or backwards, Martinez can fight going backwards, forward...as well as fighting moving LATERALLY to his left or right which not many fighters can do Martinez could stay outside and just PICK MANNY APART with his height and reach advantage

One thing I don't understand is people think Manny or Floyd would have an easy time with Martinez but then go on to cite his weight as a reason for the fight not happening. Martinez would humiliate Pacquiao and I would favor him to beat Floyd. That's the truth everyone knows but fall short of saying when talking about why the fight should not occur. I don't think it would be easy, but I think Floyd would beat Martinez and do so clearly. Since Floyd is fighting at 154 again, I want that fight a lot. I've always said the day either Floyd or Pac fought at junior middleweight again was the day that they had no excuse not to fight Martinez.

He doesn't have any clear advantage what so ever in ANY area and is damn near 40lbs smaller than Pavliks fight night weight (which was 178 against martinez). You guys are reaching. His defense sucks, he lunges into counter punches, he's not very godo AGAINST counter punchers, and he doesn't deal with movement that great either. i think the pac who had less-than spectacular performances against the bigger guys lately can still knock maravilla out if he wanted to and/or the circumstances present itself... sergio would take it as a career/life defining fight so we know hes gona be ready, maybe even overtrain a bit...but we gotta understand, he has never fought a guy like pacquiao before, and who knows what will happen when he gets hurt..better yet, what will happen if he happens to hurt pacquiao and goes in for what he thinks will be the kill, only to have manny punish him on the rebound. Not too sure bout that. When Martinez got dropped by both Pavlik & Macklin, it got all bad for those guys. This is even assuming Pacman can hurt Martinez which I don't think he can.

Pacmans workrate, which is always peoples arguement in any pac debate, doesn't exist when his opponent moves, doesn't square up, or makes punches miss instead of blocking them. BUT, JMM will always give a guy like Pacman fits, because they lunge into his counters, same counters that a guy like martinez looks for. That's just how it works. I'd favor Pacman over a lot of fighters that I wouldn't favor martinez over.. but i would NOT favor pacman over martinez.

I guess you don't know that the Punisher took Margarito's title. Pacman only beat the names of Oscar & Mosley, to think otherwise is suspect. I like Hatton so I don't feel like disecting his accomplishments. I am aware that he beat margarito. For an alphabet title, not the real title.
