Rumor: Sergio Martinez signs to fight Andy Lee in August, HBO.

Wow that fast if true. Kinda hard to believe he signed for a fight the day after he just fought.

This. . . Barker is the same calibre of fighter as Gary Lockett is, who Pavlik got LAMBASTED for fighting. . . And guess what? pavlik did what a TRUE MW champ is supposed to do with that calibre of contender - KO'd them in 2 with no problems. . . Same with Rubio. . . And Espino. . . No way, Barker is more like even money with Sturm. Lee probably takes Sturm easily. Sergio's comp is not bad at all for a MW champ, it just isn't p4p comp. I think p4p WV2 is higher than Barker or Macklin, and Donaire was moving up and got little credit for a dominant win.

Andy Lee should have fought Peter Quillin though, so the winner could have fought Sergio and looked more legit. I don't martinez will officially sign to fight anyone until the outcome of the Chavez talks and the outcome of the WBC's decision on Chavez. That is already decided, Jr. must fight Martínez this year. Whoever avoids the fight is going out of the wbc. Sulaiman said it himself a couple of weeks ago.
