"I've never seen Macklin fight. But pulling for Martinez for a possible fight between us."
After the fight:

"Good win by Martinez. Did what he had to do. I'm ready!!!"
Sergio would rather fight Euro-bums and call out inexperienced fighters or smaller guys. why dont he step up to a real challenge like true champs do? Ward will be waiting for him. and we'll see whos truly #3. for the guys complaining saying hes too small, u are the same people that are begging for a floyd fight. serge is 2 div. above floyd. ward is 1 div. above sergio. whats the problem?
make it happen!!
Sergio needs to top calling out welterweights and fight middleweights
of course he is for a pay day,but why drop to 154 to try to fight a man who never even made 154?and how can someone who never made 154 avoid the mw champ?yet he isnt avoiding the super mw champ who called him out?
Let's be clear, FMJ has won titles at JMW (beating De La Hoya and Cotto), he can fight at the weight. Martinez is willing to meet him there. Simple as that.
Sergio Martinez has never fought at super-middleweight and you can be certain Andre Ward would not meet him at middleweight or even at a catchweight.
At the end of the day Floyd will probably fight Guerrero or Canelo. If you're happy with that then that's all you should worry about.
All I see is a load of scared Floyd fans screaming ''Leave Floyd alone & fight Ward'' its okay, Floyds next vacation is imminent anyway and he'll never step to Sergio.
For a start Ward is injured, he just pulled out of a fight with Pavlik in order to have shoulder surgery.
Martinez is willing to drop to 154lbs, is Ward willing to drop to 160?
No offense but this is a really stupid thread bump. If Floyd doesn't want none of Martinez he doesn't want none, add Sergio to the list of other fighters Floyd has managed to avoid.

yes it is a horrible post.he says ward is 6'3...so was williams right??so it aint the height...and he says he rehydrates to 180??well wasnt chavez atleast 180?
Difference is Ward would do both of those things, not to mention being more skilled than either.
Why do people make like its the same thing to move up in weight to fight an unskilled guy as it is to fight a skilled one?
Mayweather doesnt need to fight Martinez either, though he did offer to move down to 154 which is more than Ward did.
If Mayweather or Martinez take these proposed fights then they are warriors through and through, but i dont think anyone can sh1t on either for not taking them.
Why not????????????

But it is ok for Martinez to chase ww's?

Martinez just wants a payday. But people on here are on his nuts so hard he avoids criticism. If it was about being the p4p best in the world he would challenge himself and take the Ward fight. Hell, there's even plenty of unfinished business left for him at 160 but he's chasing a Chavez rematch (a guy he beat 11-1) because of $$$.
Exactly.................i like the guy but some of these posters got it twisted

Beacuse Ward is 6'-3", rehydrates to 180 pounds, Martinez would be at 168 no rehydration at all or he would weigh in at 165 or something.
Ward would want the fight in Oakland and no catchweight. It's funny people calling out Sergio for his choice of opponents but not Ward who fought the 175 pound champ at 168 and was going to fight the former 160 pound champ at 168 and has called out a former 168 pound champ who retired at 175 4 years ago.

Nah, it would be really lopsided. Sergio is sort of like a MW Pacquiao in terms of their preferred opponents. They both do well against fighters who are bigger (larger targets) and slower than they are. While I don't doubt Martinez would have a chance against some of the SMWs like Abraham or Froch, Ward would be far too quick for him. And the fight really wouldn't make sense at 168, Sergio would be really tiny for that weight so if it were to ever happen Ward would need to come down or meet him at a catchweight.
