didn't see it but just got word about it on twitter. was anyone watching it? wow, so much for him being the next top MW. i need to find footage of this fight asap. does anyone know if it was televised?
Kerry Hope - 17 (KO 1) - 3 (KO 2)
Grzegorz Proksa - 26 (KO 19) - 1 (KO 0)
hope won by majority decision, not sure what the scorecards are but wow.
lol, i warned ppl about this bandwagon. i never saw it. never. proksa is ok but hes nothing i havent seen countless times before. whats next? everyone abord the pirog/golovkin bandwagon now?
Watched the fight on Brook-Hatton undercard. Proksa came out looking good for the first 4, but everything changed after the accidental headbutt opened up a cut above Proksa's left eye. He came out swinging hard at the beginning of the fifth and I think he just tired himself out. Hope kept digging on the inside and bullied Proksa against the ropes the last leg of the fight. It was a good fight with an exciting momentum shift for the underdog!
I thought Proksa should of got the W but that being said he's just not as good as ppl claimed he doesn't have the athleticism or speed to fight with his hands down in a showboaty manner if Hope had any power or was just better he would of stopped him in all likelyhood. His punches are too wide and inconsistent some are crisp hard shots then he'll unload telegraphed bombs that throw him all over the place he's fringe top ten
Sylvester was shot to pieces and just retired so that's were he was.On the other hand Proksa is an entertaining guy to watch bcse of his style and reckless abandonment.
Berto was still beating much more accomplished fighters than Proksa, Golovkin, or Pirog. Urango, Forbes, Quiantana, and Collazo were all world champions or accomplished fighters.
Not when Berto fought them
And none of those fighters where ranked #2 in a division, with only PAc in front of him:cool2:
Wow long night last night and after 4 or 5 rds of Proska dominating I fell asleep. How the **** did he lose? Sounds fishy to me. Hope was completely outmatched.
he didn't really lose. hope just came forward and threw more but proksa landed the better punches but nowadays that=losing
Keep fighting bums and you'll eventually be beat by one. That's why I don't get involved with the hype around the Eastern Europeans. Show me that you can beat the top fighters and I'll give you props. That goes for Pirog and Golovkin too.
where as Berto bum of the month club is any different
Hope deserved to win
Where's RUSSIAN CRUSHIN AT??????? He's the biggest Proksa fan in this place, no doubt.
I just saw....Im in shock, cant believe it
Gotta watch the fight for myself
Everyone has a bad night from time to time let's see how he comes back from it. I think he's overrated anyways, what has he done but beat Sylvester who just got his ass whooped by geale. Sylvester had seen better days even before the geale fight.
Wouldnt be surprised to see proksa in with jcc jr now
Proksa looked great against a faded Sylvester. He looked really promising. Losing to a brit journeyman takes a lot of steam off his bandwaggon. I must say I'm very surprised. A decision loss on hometurf. Big upset.
haha, i was just about to hit you about this bro. did you watch it online? so it was a close fight where you thought proksa won huh? interesting, i really need to watch it. i also had high hopes for him, i thought he would keep the momentum of the sylvester win going.
The Sylvester win is kind of suspect now. He was coming off a loss against Geale and he arguably lost Karmazin. I get the feeling Sylvester was completely done when Proksa got to him.
I'm highly disappointed in Proksa. I had high I hopes for him. I didn't score it round by round, but I felt Proksa edged it slightly. It was still a close fight. He had cut, but that's not a good enough reason to struggle this bad against a guy who had 1 KO in his resume. Looked like some good punches landed from Proksa, but Hope was never hurt.
Lets get a rematch. It was a good scrap.

watched this was a good scrap, i had proska by 1 for his accuracy, hope also had a point deducted, proska was badly fatigued after about 4 rounds and looked out on his feet for a lot of the fight ,and this made it look like hope was hurting him.despite being exposed, this could be the making of proska as his fitness let him down, bt he still looked top class at times
after 4 rounds? wow, that doesn't sound good. yeah, the scorecard make it sound like a close fight, i really need to find a copy of it to see how it went down. but thanks for the little summary.

The scores were 115-113, 114-113, and 114-114. From reading notes about the fight on BadLeftHook, Proksa was being pressured against the ropes most of the fight, but he landed more shots. So, it was a questionable decision.
thanks a lot bro. i had no clue how close the fight was, i just saw a tweet where it said "Kerry Hope has just become a rival to Sonny Boy Jaro for upset of the year so far. Incredible win, topped off by him being no1 trend in UK!"
