Why was he trying to take a page from Floyd's book and go in to a philly shell shoulder roll?..
He's a southpaw fighting a right hander and that right hand lines up every time, I don't understand why he would even attempt that style, on top of that he doesn't have the upper body/head movement to even use it effectively..
Props to Salido, for proving it wasn't a fluke the first time around and didn't let the judges or Arum rob him, best fight I've seen in a while!..
another side note..SMH @ JuanMa after the ref clearly favored him through out the fight and kept warning Salido, he still had the nerve to say the ref jobbed him?!..
U didn't see his facing blocking Salido's right hook.
Just need to match Juanma someone who is technically unsound and does not have a good right hook.
Match him with a bum so he can look good?
In JuanMa's defense he was definitely concussed and punch drunk when he gave that interview. I thought Grey was a bit of a dick for asking the guy again. He took a real severe head beating throughout the whole fight, I don't think he had his wits. I wish he would have been more classy but he was in a bad state.
About the Gamboa fight, people who are saying he'd be steamrolled are forgetting that styles make fights. Gamboa is not a pressure fighter and also has a glass chin. I would still favor Gamboa because he's the more complete fighter but pre-Salido JuanMa (I fear he may be damaged goods now) would have definitely given him a good fight and possibly floored or stopped him. Remember, Gamboa has been down against VERY low quality fighters.
Whoever is making Gamboa pull out of the Rios fight is doing him a favor, even if he wins that one he's going to take a beating that slick fighters don't recover from sometimes.
Gamboa's never been hurt badly though, that's the difference.
He's been down due to reckless agression in the past and being knocked off balance, he's never been in the kind of position Juanma has been in all too often. The much smaller Marquez rocked Juanma badly. Gamboa has way too much speed for Juanma's slow punches, if Salido is able to land 3 or 4 to Juanma's single punch, Gamboa would torch him. He also hits MUCH harder than Salido.
Juanma's defence has too many holes, he tried to adopt the shoulder roll last night and was rolling into punches.
He hasn't learned a single thing or improved one bit. It is sad watching a guy with tools think he is the end all and be all then fall apart because they failed to keep working on their craft. He has heart and he has talent but he lacked that drive to keep getting better.
If you want to know why people get real down on guys after loses Juanma is example A, if a guy fails to look in the mirror after tough situations (especially loses) to realize what issues caused it nothing will change, the old definition of insane "doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result"

I am from Puerto Rico and felt ashamed of Juanma's lame excuse.. Juanma needs to learn from his mistakes and accept when someone else is better than him. I knew Salido would win again I am not a fan of Juanma at all he is not humble and he has no defense no jab he carries dynamite on his gloves but has the wrong stance. His right hand has more power than his left they should have developed his boxing style in a different way in order to throw the right hand as a hook.
In my opinion it is better for him to lose than to win this fight he needs to learn how to accept a loss. Can you imagine if he beat Salido last night, this guy is an egomaniac I am glad that Salido gave him a lesson and at the end even gave him credit for being a strong fighter.
This one goes to Mexico well done!
juanma landed like a dozen elbow rowls but he can never beat floyds elbow rowl connect percentage
You're repeating yourself brah.
We got it. You're trolling.
Yea Gamboa would've ate JuanMa alive!..speed and power would've been too much, I was still hoping for it though..
He's got heart though, can't deny that..he wanted that belt back..
That's the one thing I knew Juan Ma always had was heart. But unfortunately it only takes you so far. Big, big hit for Juan Ma's career.
What defense? It looks like he went to the Paul Williams school of eating overhand hooks. (PWSO-E-OH)
I think Paul Williams has better defense and punch technique.
