Although I do agree that Floyd goes a little too far when bashing his opponents, I can't help but admit that he does a hell of a job owning his opponents through the build up.
He has done it with every opponent, specially with Ortiz. He put him on blast and exposed the fake "my mom left us" and other crap Ortiz said to try and win people's hearts. Floyd is a genius when it comes to generating public interest and will own you hard and won't back off.
What do you think?
how did floyd expose the "Fake" my mom left us?
just cause he said it in the final press conference before the fight? dude, floyd lies all the time. basically this piece of sh!t lies everytime he opens his mouth. and you believe him cause you are a flomo and dream about floyds cok. congrats
I want to hear 6 instances where Floyd has lied. Go on you got all day.
Yeah sure Floyd is a great sh!t talker.. one of his recent greats is "its a stick-up". wow... mostly elementary-type insults really.
When he was talking about Shane's hot-tub time machine, that was pretty funny..
I think you'd have to be a Spanish speaker to actually get to Cotto.
Mayorga was one that came close to getting in his head.
True, the language barrier seems to affect the way he interprets insults. Mayweather is VERY persistent though haha. He gets his point across. I don't see him doing much insulting though. Just focusing on the fight and being in top shape.
I doubt he gets to Cotto, but if anyone could do it, it'd be "Money" Mayweather.

Floyd is very good at mind games, but IMO Ortiz kinda owns himself ALL the time. And the dude is one of my favorite fighters. He just contradicts himself and uses odd language to describe things.
Yeah, Ortiz is a fucking weirdo for the most part.

Floyd's trash talk is weak
he's too insecure to be a good villain
he needs the hate to make money, but he craves the love
bulk of his smack talk isn't out of confidence
it's him lashing out when he gets rattled, which is often and easily
Hopkins I would put ahead of him, I'd place him on the same level as the Klitschkos.
The Klitschkos screw you around during the deal-making and make you sign a contract stating that if you win, you have to fight the other brother. It's different, but it's effective also.

Spot on. This is why everyone loves when Mayweather is on 24/7 and they find it boring when other fighters are on it.
I agree with the author haters be damned. Bernard Hopkins nowhere near compares to Floyd because what he does DOESN'T translate into dollars. Only hardcore fans of BOXING (not slugging) like myself actually tune into see Bernard..
Bernard's greatest performance in the 2nd half of his career (Pavlik) tanked at the box office. Even Floyd's fight with Baldomir did 300K buys.
As far as Ortiz and what he said. Robert Garcia also said that while Ortiz's father wasn't actively involved in his life, he was there. Ortiz definitely embellished his story and Floyd did call him on that.
Like him or not, Floyd sells himself better than any boxer out there. Name me ONE boxer presently that makes his HATERs blood boil to where as they want to comment on EVERY aspect of him that doesn't deal with boxing???
The proof is evident.
Exactly! Floyd put Ortiz on blast.

better than dreamin about mannys cok. his penis is probly small cuz ya know the whole asian thing and everything. congrats to YOU!
Ortiz's mom did leave him. There were no changes i his story. Only idiot Mayweather fans listening to mayweather and repeating him like always taking things out of context.
Here you go Pactard...:bottle:
Yep, people actually buy into the "Money" persona. I guess boxing is similar to the WWE in some ways. If boxing had story lines it'd be back on the mainstream.:lol1:
thats what Im sayin. too many people gettin upset at floyds antics and his out of the ring life. I say who gives a sh!t. let him look like an azzhole or a scumbag or a criminal or whatever, but he brings fans to see his fights, thats all that matters and thats why hes the face of boxing, like it or not:boxing:
I think he is a mastermind at selling himself and his fights, and the fact that it is more than likely more of his haters buy his fights than his fans, just proves that he is a genius at what he does, and knows exactly whats going and being said about him, and plays to it to get the most money possible, and thus far, it seems to have been working like a charm.
