Shane Mosley Doesn't Deserve To Get A Title Shot On The May 5th Undercard

Fights like this are hurting the sport of boxing. I can understand giving somebody another chance after one bad performance, but Shane Mosley is coming off of three consecutive fights where he looked absolutley terrible. First of all he got absolutley decimated and visciously pummelled by Floyd "Money" Mayweather, and then he got outboxed by Sergio Mora in a draw that should have been a loss, Mora then proceeded to show us just how shot Mosley is by losing to a bum in Brian Vera in his very next fight, and then he gave one of the worst performances I have ever seen from any fighter ever, against Manny Pacquiao (I'm not even sure if you can call it a performance, it was that bad). I don't care what anyone says, I think that he got paid off and didn't even try to win that fight against Manny Pacquiao. People want to hound a guy like Victor Ortiz for quitting against Marcos Maidana and Floyd Mayweather, but what Shane Mosley did against Manny Pacquiao was even worse than quitting because he didn't even begin to try to win (Ortiz tried, gave up and quit, but at least he tried). Shane showed absolutley zero desire to win that fight and there should be ramifications for the way he performed. Whether he was paid off to lose or just didn't have the tools to do better than he did, it shouldn't matter. After a miserable, awful performance like that, he should not be able to get such a showcase fight on such a big and popular card. What happened to fighting the best? Mosley brings next to nothing to the table anymore in terms of being a legit threat, he's been washed up for years and I think the Mayweather fight took whatever he had left out of him, mentally and physically. By beating him at this point in his career, all Saul Alvarez will be proving is that he is better than a C level fighter, as any good or very good fighter in their prime should dominate this version of Mosley. Fights like this are putting me off boxing because you just have so many fighters out there who are cherry picking and taking easy fights. There are lots of fighters who I would much rather have seen Canelo fight that would have told us more about him than this will. All this fight does is give him another easy title defence, and give Shane "The Steroids" Mosley another payday, which he absolutley does not deserve after looking like garbage for 3 fights in a row. He did better against mayweather than any other opponent to date, Mora has good defense, and Pacquiao is plain awkward. I don't blame them for those, but this is his last chance to stay at the top. lol look at this fool, you know who's ****ing up the boxing game? Mayweather, guy chooses who he wants to fight and claims that he's the best to ever done it? Pleaase, if SRL,Duran,Hagler,Hearns, were able to easily choose who tey wanted to fight back in the day, they would be undefeated till this day.

He hasn't won a fight in more than 3 years and his last two performances were beyond awful. He got outboxed by a guy (Mora) who lost to a bum (Vera) in his very next fight. Overall I just think that the Pacquiao fight should be the final straw. There is no excuse for how badly he performed in that fight and it should result in people not taking him seriously anymore. Whether he threw the fight or not. His "performance" was a disgrace to the sport of boxing and everybody who is a fan of it.

It's an interesting fight and that's all that matters to me. This fight got KO all over it. This right here. Titles are, and have been meaningless for some time now.

He doesnt' deserve it, but if he gets offered it why not? As if anybody would say no I'm not hating on Mosley for accepting the fight, my problem is with the people who are giving him an opportunity that he simply doesn't deserve. Admittedly the fans who buy the May 5th PPV will be buying it almost purely for the Mayweather fight, but they shouldn't have to watch a mis-match like this, with a guy who hasn't won a fight in more than 3 years and has looked terrible in each and every one of his last 3 fights. Fights like this are not going to bring new fans to the sport of boxing. Fights like this will drive fans away. We need to see more competitive matchups and less guys who are just there for the payday like Shane. Saul Alvarez, Richard Schaefer and Oscar De La Hoya should all be ashamed for making this fight when there are much better ones to be made.

dog..all you did was diss Shane..its not his fault the game is corny atm....you invested too many keys into Shane's last performances and not enough into the corruption and corny ass ways the game has atm.....Molsey's job is to feed his fam...and if these clowns wanna keep paying him its their fault....don't hate the player, hate the game...you should know that by now!! If there was corruption involved in the Mosley/Pacquiao fight and Mosley did indeed throw the fight like I think he did, then he absolutley deserves to be blamed for it. No boxer/fighter with an ounce of pride and/or respect for the sport and it's fans would do that. Let's face facts. Shane has looked like garbage for 3 fights in a row and he hasn't won a fight in more than 3 years. He doesn't deserve a title shot, and while he has had a pretty good career in the sport of boxing, I don't have much respect for him. Let's be honest. He's lost to pretty much all of the elite boxers that he has faced, taken steroids, probably for his whole career, and then you think about the way he performed in the Pacquiao fight, it just disgusts me. And this guy has the nerve to call himself a "warrior". :nonono:

Even at this age, I believe an experienced fighter like Mosley can still pose a threat. He just needs to remember to bring his roids.

And Canelo don't deserve that belt. Ha! Fukin true. He won it against a welterweight and has fought 1 legit JMW since then in Rhodes. I love Gomez, but he's a WW and Cintron....I guess losing your first fight after you barrel roll out of a ring gets you a title shot. So congrats to Shane on another Payday and congrats to Canelo for another "legit" opponent for his "belt". Actually hoping Shane does something
