Who has more power? Mayweather or Cotto ?

@ 154 it's probably Cotto. But the thing is neither of them really hit that hard. Especially judging that last Cotto fight, he lands some precision shots and throws good combinations but they just don't seem to hit that hard.

Cotto, obviously. I feel the only divion where Floyd would have the power advantage is at 140. It's not gonna matter though, I think Floyd is gonna be landing the harder and crisper shots (especially if he gets 8oz glove).

the hang up here for me is the notion (for cotto and his handlers,) that mayweather is invariably the better boxer i dont think cotto actually believes he can outbox him, and that he will still try, and fail. you think he does believe he can win. and we can certainly agree to disagree. cotto's best bet is not to box. he's got to know that. if he's going into the fight with that mentality (that he's not willing to take the risks that will give him the best chance to win,) i dont think he really thinks he can outbox floyd. i think if he truely believes in himself he'll put himself in the best position to win the fight, and that's coming forward and breaking floyd down and not boxing. Cotto has never been a throw caution to the wind guy, he has always been a calcuating boxer offensive minded sure but never a really go get you sort. Is he better off trying to do something that isn't him, or trying his best at what he does best I would say the latter but it probably doesn't matter both are likely to get him beat bad.

I think Diaz will see this and will determine that the best option is not necessarily to box and move, but to try and capitalize on Floyd's aggressiveness because when Floyd's aggressive he's a little out of his comfort zone. I don't think it will work for a second, I'm just saying that whatever gameplan Diaz comes up with Cotto will believe he can execute it and win...I think that's just the overall psyche of fighters, they always think they can win.

I don't know if I agree with that. I think it takes a special kind of self confidence/belief to be a pro fighter, even if it's ill-advised. I think Cotto will be confident going in there, it's just how they're conditioned and it's why losses are so hard to swallow. Especially humiliating losses. But I agree on the strategy he will use. I would say Cotto but I don't know,Floyd has that deceiving power that confuses me sometimes.You don't know how much power hes going to show up with on fight night, however I see Cotto being the strongest of the two.

i hate saying this but i actually don't think cotto has any intention of trying to win boxing is his best chance to keep from getting beat up before he gets his paycheck i also wouldnt be surprised to see him retire in the ring after the fight if he does take another beating. there's only so many times a great boxer can go out there and get beat up in front of his family. Me too. Cotto has become more of a boxer as he's gone up in weight, just like Floyd did. Floyd was a killer at 30, 35, and 40. Then he got to 47 and 54 and boxed more because he was facing bigger guys who's power he had to respect and who he couldn't hurt as easily. I think Cotto knows Floyd is going to try and press the action and he's gonna let him do that and hope to catch him in exchanges. Cotto definitely punches harder than Mayweather.

Cotto is clearly more heavy handed.but floyd is sharper and more accurate

Floyd is one of the weakest punches in boxing history EVEN cherry picking opponents with weak chins. So Cotto without a doubt.

Cotto has the power edge. But it's not a huge difference.
