Newly crowned WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (28-1, 18 KO’s) is still resistant to the idea of facing WBA super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux for some reason and you have to what’s really behind all of Donaire’s refusals to face the Cuban two-time former Olympic Gold Medalist Rigondeaux. Donaire says he wants to face Yuriorkis Gamboa, and feels he’s a lot better than Rigondeuax.
Speaking with Fight Hub, Donaire said “If I’m afraid , then give me Gamboa. I’m not afraid to fight Gamboa, and I believe Gamboa is a 100 times better than Rigondeaux. That’s the type of fight I want. That’s one of the guys I want to go for.”

Donaire is looking crappy since the Montiel fight, with his selection of opposition. He's Top 5 P4P, it's about time people start holding him to the standard that we all hold Mayweather and Pacquiao too. He wants be known as one of the best, than people need to hold him to that standard.
Terrazas is an alright fight, but he should fight Nishioka next for sure. Narvaez was a bulls**t fight, and Vazquez Jr was as well. WV2's only step up in opposition was against Jorge Arce last year and he got TKO'd. WV2 was not a very good fight at all, and I don't want to hear about how Nonito took something of a tune-up fight for his first at 122. He was jumping from 118-122, he should have just tried to get the Arce bout for February and not even wasted time with Vazquez Jr. Now, it appears he's going to fight a decent fight in Terrazas (better than fighting WV2), and than Jorge Arce in the fall, and possibly move up to 126 next year. So, he'd be leaving 122 without fighting Nishioka and Rigondeaux, the 2 highest rated Super Bantamweight champions in the world.
People always give Pacquiao s**t for basically just fighting David Diaz, while he didn't fight any of the other Lightweights that were there, as well as giving him crap about not fighting Guzman at 130 in 07-08, Mosley in 09-10, Berto, or Ortiz at 147. People also talk crap about Floyd not fighting Tszyu at 140 or Marg at 147 as well. But, Nonito didn't fight Mares, Moreno, or Agbeko at 118, and appears to possibly not be fighting Nishioka or Rigondeaux at 122, but it's okay if he does that.
Who??
Ortiz ain't ****...
A world champ that got a gift shot. He still hasent proved anything. His resume as a pro isn't af all impressive. Dumbasz. The guy you quoted was only giving his opinion. That didn't merit name calling. Made yourself look stupid.
Lol and Nonito got his belt from the best right? A vacant title against a guy who was coming of a loss.
give me the break the guy has 9 fights (Rigo) he needs to earn his shot
The guy is the world champion, dumbass lol
a champion in need to earn his shot smh
I don't get this Donaire calls out Gambo knowing full well he's moving up to 135 to fight Rios and Donaire has already said he is staying at 122.
To me I think it looks like a vain attempt to cover up the fact he doesn't want any of Rigo. I think Donaire knows he will struggle against a technically sound defensive fighter.
exactly my thoughts lol im loosing respect for donaire big time and fast the more reasons he makes up the dumber he looks.
It doesn't change the fact that he didn't fight them, and appears ready to not fight the top 2 SBW either......
I don't care if he did or not, but people need to stop giving Nonito a pass on things they crucify others for. He's a Top 5 P4P fighter, it's time people started holding him to that standard, or do you disagree with that????
It wasn't possible to fight them.... That's y he didn't.... Or should I blame May for not fighting Ray???
Mares- Agbeko..... 118 tourney didn't do enough to separate himself from Agbeko
Agbeko- see above
Moreno- ducked/priced himself out
What standard??? Pac fought Mosley without a win in 2 yrs.... Pac is still #1....
Last I checked Donaire still campaigns at 122 and has said before he wants to unify.... If/when he moves to 126 without fighting Rigo Nishioka then u can start the duck campaign..... Until then it's too early to tell
Why do bring up the same names in every Donaire thread when that myth has been put to rest already???

Cut the BS Donaire...He just knows he won't look good against Rigondeaux so he is making all type of excuses as to why he don't want to fight him
I think Rigondeaux would kill him with Body Shots and I think deep down even he knows that!
Gamboa would merk Rigo . I can't believe that people think Rigo is such a beast with his 9 fights lolmfao.
Rigo needs to fight his way to the top like w everyone else does. Earn it. Gambia is the better fighter and most dangerous until Rigo proves otherwise
You are missing the point.
Donaire is calling out someone who is clearly unattainable in an obvious attempt to justify his on going dismissal of a clash with Rigo.
Rigo may of only had 9 pro fights but he is still clearly one of if not the best at 122 he is ranked 3rd and has a title much better than Donaires last few opponent imo.

But Omar Narvaez and Wilfredo Vazquez Jr, those were beasts..........

but rigo is a champion in donaires division.and gamboa is going to 135..so what fight is relevant?
