Whether you love him or hate him, you got to give him respect. James Kirkland was TKO'd by Ishida, then a few months later, he takes on the heavy handed, Mexican, Alfredo Angulo in his own backyard and wins.
Check out this video, pretty interesting.

I like Kirkland but don't know how far he can actually go and how good he will be.
I remember the first time I saw him was against Ishida & my boy was hyping Kirkland...calling him a monster & that...then I witness this Ishida dude (with a low KO record) just KD Kirkland like 3 times in round 1 & I was like really? This guy (Kirkland) a monster?
But then I saw him against Angulo & the guy showed tremendous heart to comeback from that first round KD.
I like Kirkland. I think he offers so much more then just being a brawler. He really has skill when he uses it. He chin scares me though. A sharp counter puncher may always put him down. Time will tell.
kirkland has a great chin. the reason he didnt take the punches so well against ishida is bcuz he cut too much weight and he got caught cold. against angulo he got caught cold by a monster puncher.
It was pretty good. He is really down to earth outside the ring. Anne Wolfe makes a lot of difference. No wonder Laila didn't want it with her. I'd like to see her train another fighter, just to see if her methods are that effective.
