Broner took on a very solid Eloy Perez, who some even said would give all the trouble in the world. He didn't. Broner controlled every moment of the fight, landed big shots all 4 rounds, and knocked him out. Broner is legit. Say what you want about his personality, but guy has some serious talent.
And I wasn't quite as down on Devon as most, because his controversial fights were all close fights still. I was never THAT high on him, but damn he beat Maidana down. I scored it 99-91 Alexander, Maidana won the 2nd in my opinion. And he floored Maidana!!! I don't care what anyone says, he florred Maidana there and tried to step around him while Marcos was falling back. Alexander looked damn good and I don't want to hear how 147 was a bad weight for Maidana. 147 was a good weight for Alexander, period. He was just too quick for Maidana. Alexander is a legit Top 10 Welterweight right now, no doubt.
Thoughts???
You obviously havent got the capability to judge fights as they happen. Pacman vs Marquez i can understand but no way did Ponce beat Broner! As for him getting knocked out, any boxer has the chance of getting clocked! But he may get knocked out at 130, nothing saying he will only get knocked out at higher weights.
........he lost bro
Stop being a douche Bombsy.
Maidana was being just as dirty. Its a fight. Go watch figure skating if you don't like it, woman.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
green when I can return it.
And Maidana has always fought clean? You gotta do what you have to, i suppose you didnt see maidana using his head to get on the inside? Alexander outclassed Maidana tonight, stop hating.
I never said Maidana is a clean fighter and actually, I don't even like Maidana either lol... but Alexander did look good at 147 I'll give him that, but his holding and forearming/elbowing was straight up ridiculous I don't care. No man deserves credit for fighting like a b1tch.
Broner on the other hand 0_0
I'm a big Rios fan, but I think Gamboa is going to beat him a lot easier than some think. As long as he carries the weight fine, he'll out box Brandon. Way too much speed for Rios to deal with. That being said, if Rios can time Gamboa jumping in and out, and catch him, it could get real interesting.
I personally think that choosing Rios as your first fight at the weight is a huge risk. Brandon is used to the weight and with his nutrition regime completely changing i think gamboa is in for a tough night. If Gamboa can keep Rios on the outside then he is favourite but rios walks through big punchers and think gamboa wont be able to keep him at bay. Especially as he decided not to fight a few other opponents to tune his body at the weight.
I remember that being a close fight, where if Ponce got the nod, I wouldn't have been mad. I think I had him winning too (maybe). Anyways, the way Broner is fighting, I really don't think he'll ever get KO'ed.
Ponce's punch output made it look closer than what it was, Broner was always in control.
I was never high on Broner or Devon but I have to give credit where its due... to BRONER. Alexander on the other hand can suck a d1ck, he was punchin and grabbing and even punching while holding, shoving Maidana back with his forearms/elbows and Steve Smoger stood idlely by: was the first time I ever agreed with harold letterman when he said smoger was doing a terrible job smh

Totally agree! Do you think Gamboa beats Rios? I cant see it. Rios is a beast.

I would love to see floyd take broner under his wing and really show him how to box and use all the right tools seriously...and if broner is fighting bums then what is jccjr fighting?

Broner fights more midgets than Donaire
Allegedly, they weighed around the same coming to the ring.
I don't know how true that is, though.
Someone said they were a few Lbs apart in the RBR thread.
Broner will get knocked out as soon as he steps up.
He already lost to Ponce

Broner said before the Perez fight that he wants to fight 4 times this year. Would love to see him fight Uchiyama in May or June, than Gamboa if he beats Rios. Gamboa-Broner would be a great fight. I'd have to root for Gamboa, because I like him just slightly more, and I think he'd have the speed to match Broner. But, if Adrien caught Gamboa, it'd get real interesting.
I just don't see how Broner is 22, has fought good fights in Ponce De Leon, Litzau, and Perez (who was his mandatory), and people say he's not fighting anyone good. Like, what the f**k???
Broner is going to be the next "If he doesn't fight them, he's avoiding them. And if he does fight them, he's cherry picking".
By the way, Cherry Pick-Shot-Duck are the most over used words by morons on this site, wouldn't you agree????
I honestly want this guy to round up all the belts first before he makes the jump to 135. He has the talent, so why not? The current champs at 130 are Takashi Uchiyama and Juan Carlos Salgado. He should fight Salgado (IBF) next, then whoever holds the WBC belt, then Uchiyama (WBA). Clean out the division first. If he can land Gamboa, ehh....that'll be nice but Gamboa is busy dealing with Rios.

Nah he'll walk through Gamboa.

Cant believe people are still being negative towards Broner and Alexander. In terms of Broner, this guy was his mandatory! What do you want him to do? Fight guys who are ranked below? He is the upcoming talent in all of boxing, no arguments. In terms of Alexander, nobody has dominated Maidana like that. He showed speed, power, good feet, good head movement and took some of Maidana's best shots. Nobody can take anything away from Alexander, he faced in my books one of the avoided guys around and delivered. Really think some of the morons that comment on this site need to be fair, even if you dont like these guys dont hate when they were the better man.
And yes before anyone comments, as a khan fan i can admit after khan faced 12 rounds with maidana he knew he was never getting in the ring with him again! LOL:haha:
