I don't know what but I really do think that Cotto has got a great chance of an upset going into his fight with Floyd Mayweather, I don't know why I just have a feeling, which isn't much I know but still.
The last time I felt this it was when Ricky Hatton went against Mayweather and I had a feeling that he was going to lose then.
I like both boxers btw so I just nuthugging Cotto or disrespecting Floyd.
I believe that this is going to be a good fight and if you ask me, Cotto could do with a positive performance or even a win in this fight to carry on boxing.
you can never count anyone out in boxing, that said cotto stands as little chance as is possible to win this fight. as did hatton.
hes inferior to floyd in almost every aspect of the game, floyd never takes anyone lightly either. i have a feeling of my own, i feel cotto is going to sleep. i had the same feeling for the hatton fight, predicted in 11, turned out to be in 10. ill make the same prediction again though, floyd to knock cotto out in 11.
Woww you give Cotto the same chances at Hatton? That's craaaaaaazy.

didnt know pac was undefeated, must be another pacquiao I never heard of that is undefeated and was supposed to fight floyd. good one...
moving on, while I would LOVE for cotto to upset floyd, he has about as much chance as I do at upsetting floyd. sorry miguel, different leagues, but Im rootin for ya...
LMAO my bad I meant his undefeated streak - Pac hasn't lost in years. That's your opinion, it's cool.
Is this version of Cotto as competitive as the semi-retired Oscar that Floyd won an SD over?
That version of Oscar was on the slide, and still managed to cause some problems.
I think people are giving a 35 yr. Mayweather too much credit, and the sliding Cotto too little.
If Cotto shows up slightly reinvigorated, it spells trouble for anyone.
He may get beat, but he'll make you pay.
This is practically exactly what I think. But money has got this, you can bet on it.
It might surprise you that I am not even a Mayweather fan.
I just see him as so much better.
It doesn't matter.
Floys is beyond good and has some of the best skills ever displayed in the ring but to think he is better at everything than most his opponents is asinine.
Cotto may be winding down but he has his tools. Same with Ortiz, he was young and inexperienced but he had his tools. Same with Mosley, etc. These people are professionals, most don't sit around hoping to get lucky. Well, maybe Ortiz did but that's a different story...
Money is better, but to think his opponents have 0 chance, or .1 chance or some other silly things some people keep repeating is just a turnoff.

You blended two posts so I don't know if you are talking to me or PR guy.
I never said Cotto was ruined for the record. :)
Maybe the other guys did but I didn't.
Nah he ****ed up the quote, and so any post that quotes it continues to blend posts together. I know you never said he was ruined, although he maybe after this fight.
Sorry man. When someone answers Cotto he backpedals.
I think Floyd has all of the answers for Cotto.
Maybe I am wrong, but nothing I can see will sell on me on Cotto being competitive in this one.
When Cotto gets hit, that great jab goes out the window. See later rounds of Mosley fight, hell even Clottey fight for proof.
Mosley was with him every second of that fight walking through Cotto's right hands and replicating his attack right back at him. That was a stamina issue, and he only neglected it in his last 2-3 rounds. And as I said before, I agree that stamina is Cotto's biggest downfall in this matchup and he will get chewed up in the latter part of the fight. I don't see him getting stopped though.
Cotto can't outbox Mayweather no way no how.
He really has to throw the jab relentlessly in this fight and even then Floyd will counter him to death.
But I think a high workrate with a lot of missed punches is the only way he has a remote shot.
Mayweather's timing is better, his defense is better, he's quicker, he punches as hard, he's more accurate. Just way too much for Cotto to deal with, QUOTE]
Floyd doesn't move as much as he once did in the ring, he'll stand toe 2 toe with Cotto and Cotto will get the betta of him. Go back and look at the last 3 fights he's had. He's been standing in the middle of the ring banging it out. That favors Cotto and Cotto is the hardest hitting puncher Floyd has ever faced. I wish he had the balls to fight Cotto b4 Margcheato ruined him!
PRPP:boxing:
How is Cotto ruined? He displayed heart in his fight against Clottey and Margarito in the rematch, and he's made some much needed adjustments. And Floyd still has great footwork, there's a reason he didn't move much against Ortiz. You don't run against a guy who fights better moving forward and has suspect chin and heart.

Floyd is a better inside fighter than Cotto.
That facet of the game is something he's underrated in.
He will sit in the pocket and torch guys.
I know you like Cotto, but Cotto still does NOTHING better than Floyd.
Not even the hook.
Horse****.
Don't get me wrong, Floyd has got this but you're taking the stan to the next level with the hook comment.

I agree to an extent, but you can't always look at it as who does what better. Cotto also has impeccable timing, speed, and power, and that changes the game plan for Floyd. He can't just stand in front of him or walk him down (at least not in the first half) like he did Ortiz, because no matter how nasty a puncher Ortiz is, he doesn't time and counter half as well as Cotto. This gives Cotto the chance to put the pressure on Floyd and back him up with his jab. Cotto doesn't just jab well, he has great footwork and cuts off the ring better than maybe anyone out there today. This isn't 50 year old Oscar either, if Cotto gets Floyd on the ropes, his body attack will be better than what Floyd is used to (the overanxious punching bag looking for the KO). Cotto, who boxes intelligently these days, could also use this aggression and bothersome jab to pressure Floyd into attacking, where Cotto can do the unexpected and play the role of the counter puncher. I expect to see both fighters adapting quite a bit in this fight, both coming in with 2 or 3 good game plans. Again, I simply do not understand why so many people are writing Cotto off.
Cotto could win a SD and dont be surprised if Floyd gets beat up but
still wins da fight. Cotto betta be ready to make changes during the fight because I know Folyd will and using that style he used for Margacheato will not work all nite.

I cannot see it man maybe Miguel might shock us all and give Floyd all he can handle but i cant see anything but a dominant perfromance from Floyd

I don't see it at all. The general opinion of the fight seems to be that Floyd will win but Cotto will make him work, but the majority may end up being surprised at how easily Floyd wins this fight. Can't see what Cotto does that Floyd will have real trouble with.
This is the bottom line.

Cotto has no chance. Reality is hard to deal with but it is what it is. Mayweather is going to pick him apart and there's nothing Cotto can do to stop it.
Not for me i think he can make a few rounds competitive but even them he will lose Floyd will pick him apart all night

I also think that is he was to win he would need to end it before the 6th round. Otherwise Floyd will take over and dominate.
How do you see him setting up that stoppage?
