Well the convo shifted so we started talking about Tysons temperament going into the Douglas fight, not a big deal at all champ.
The Tyson that beat Spinks? Well it was only less than a year and a half between the Tyson-Spinks and Tyson-Douglas fights. He only fought 6 rounds in 2 fights after the Spinks fight. Damn Tyson fell off in a 16-18 months? Whats different between the Tyson that fought Spinks and the Tyson that fought Douglas? Before the Douglas fight, Tyson KO'ed Carl Williams in 1 round.
Why all the excuses for a "Prime" Tyson getting Ko'ed by the biggest underdog ever?
Kevin Rooney.
It's all BS myth that Lewis was out of shape, etc. He was 3 lbs heavier than his fight with Rahman and only 7 lbs more than the previous Tyson fight. For a 6'5" man, he could lose that much weight skipping a meal. Oh and age? He was 37, close to 38 and was still every bit as good as he ever was. Both Klitschko's careers will extend into their 40's easily and so could Lennox's.
It's just excuses for Vitali having gotten the better of an ATG. Just one more way to discredit them.
Explain to me then why your hero himself who fought him and was the closest to him that night, in his post fight interview, said:
Lennox Lewis promised to knock me out in 5 rounds. Why didn't he? I know because he don't have condition for 5 rounds.
Tyson may of had trouble because of vitalis weight and size. But tysons athleticism, speed, two fisted attck would have been a nightmare for vitali. maybe vitali wins in the late rounds if he hit tyson enough with his jab.
I've always believed a prime Tyson would have a field day with both Klitschkos. You need to get Mike's attention and hurt him to beat him. The Klitschkos, with their overwary style, limp jabs and lack of inside game, just do not have the styles. Yeah, their right hands are powerful, Vitali's especially, but neither throws it with the regularity necessary. And whenever opponents come at them they seize up and don't throw, just lean back/move back, chins in the air.
BUSTER DOUGLAS SPEAKING about the Klits
His views on the Klitschko brothers as champions in today’s heavyweight division:
“Well I think they’re good fighters and you’re going to have to definitely go in there and know what you’re doing when you get in there because of their experience. They’re in great shape and they come to fight in each and every fight. I think there is an opportunity for a good American heavyweight to go in there and really put up a good challenge against them. To me it just looks like an opportunity but you got to be ready when you go in there because those guys, when they come in each and every night they’re ready to fight.”
His views on how the Klitschko brothers would have fared in his era of the heavyweight division:
“I think they would have done well, because they’re good fighters. Like I said you’d have to come to fight. They’re good fighters and they’re being brought up right. Each and every night the Klitschkos are ready to fight so you got to be on your A-game when you go in there.”
Buster Douglas is an intelligent man.
Tyson was dropped in sparring leading up to the Douglas fight which is evidence that Tyson never took the fight seriously and wasn't training properly.
So its busters fault because Tyson slacked off? Thats a mentally weak and unfocused fighter to take a fight off....

What have I said was Busters fault? Buster fought the fight of his life that night all as I said was you can't say Tyson was at his best in that fight because it is quite evident he was far from his best.
Tyson was small and Vitali had many fights with fast guys. Tyson may have been a little better than that but if Buster Douglas managed to stymie prime Tyson, I have zero doubt Vitali would knock him out.
Exactly right. Good evaluation. No other feasable outcome. 8" height difference and 25+ lbs. Even if the skill was equal, Tyson gets clobbered based on size disparity.
Are you forgetting speed difference? If the skill was equal isn't it usually the faster fighter that beats the bigger and stronger fighter? #Speed Kills.
And Tyson was a lot lot quicker not just a little.
You have just put all your theories on why Vitali wins to bed. So i rest my case.
Tyson was too fast and too aggressive at his best. Neither of the Klitschko's would see the final round. Same with Lewis, Tyson would have beat him also but maybe not knock him out. Lewis would definitely beat the Klitschko's though. My opinion.

You can hardly call Tyson V Douglas prime Tyson. "I didn't take Buster seriously because I had previously fought four fighters that were better fighters than buster and one had beaten buster, Tony Tucker, So i went to Japan and I was hanging out with a lot of women, not training properly matter of fact I was training and one of my sparring partners dropped me and that was how serious I was training."
Tyson's prime ended when he ditched Kevin Rooney.
:haha: YES!!! that game reminded me of "Pro Wrestling" on NES with Starman...lol
btw ...who was better Iron Mike or Mr. Dream?? :lol1:
Lmaoooo....
I always had more problems with this guy. No idea who did this, but I couldn't do it. Kids reflexes are just crazy.
My excuse is too much soda spilt on my controller.
What about...

Knocking fools out into the stands. It always is rated as one of the worst, but I always have a had a soft spot for that game.
Everybody had afros, lol.
How can you say that a fighter with speed of hand and foot could beat Vitali when nobody with those attributes have been able to come close to that before?
Tyson was a head hunter, Vitaly has never been knocked out and I'm sure that Tyson isn't a harder puncher than all of Vitaly's 46 opponents at HW. What we do know is that Tyson has been knocked out on numerous occasions and he has trouble with tall boxers with good jabs and that can box. Tyson had the mental stability of a 2 legged chair and although he was exciting for 2-4 year period, his early knockouts came against chumps. He doesnt have more than 5 decent wins on his entire resume IMO.
He had problems with tall boxers with good jabs that knew how to use their FEET and MOVE. Mike backs the Klits into a corner cuts the ring off get inside their jab and demolish their body and jaw into TKO or KO.
As for Tyson's 5 decent wins on his entire record? I can't think of 5 decent wins between the 2 Klits on their records.
I loved Mike Tyson.
I think Mike Tyson's Punch Out is still the greatest boxing game, if not greatest game, ever made.
I played that joint, fingers bleeding, learned every combo, from Glass Joe, to Super Macho Man, until I got into the ring with Iron Mike.
When I beat him, I thought I had opened the key to the universe.
Rose tinted glasses took off, prime Vitali beats prime Iron Mike, 7 out of 10 times.
Just look how quick and agile Tucker is on his feet, If the Klits had that foot speed they probably would have give Tyson problems, but they don't and never have had half the foot speed and agileness of Tucker.
Prime Vitali would have won via TKO in the late rounds over prime Tyson who is the most overrated boxer of all time.
Vitali is all wrong for Tyson boxed tall, Solid chin wouldn't be intimidated by the hype machine that followed Tyson, had good power Vitali takes him into deep water and stops an exhausted battered and bruised Tyson by the 10th.
Prime Tyson was a beast with fast hands and power, i think he had everything to give Vitali problems. Tyson by KO !
Vitali never fought someone with that level of speed and power.
