I think it quite obvious he did. his body langage showed he didnt want to fight. he didnt even try to get up. even at the press conference he couldnt look at dawson and was quiet as a mouse. he knows what he did. he cannot win this one with his tactics. dawson is too smart, big, .;ghnmzxz\xfgl

=ov strong, and motivated and I like this new version him.
what u all say?
Do you think Roy Hurt him in that fight?
no not at any time did roy jones have hopkins hurt in the fight...even when hopkins got hit in the back of the head...roy just doesn't punch with that kind of snap anymore...calzaghe definitely didn't hurt him with the lowblow...
its warranted in this case...given how he's faked lowblows and pulled acting jobs in the calzaghe and jones fights...

Wouldn't make sense, he's always been a master at adjusting. He would have quickly formulated a plan if his initial one didn't work. What I believe happened was, there was some legitimacy to the injury, and because he knew who was in front of him, he bailed himself out as in his mind he felt...only thing he was gonna accomplish was handing out the title. So in short he quit, as hard as it is for me to admit that. Another possibility is, he looked for the ref to deduct a point and fucked himself in the process, I don't know :dunno:
I've only watched it twice, not a good look for Hopkins.
I've seen it once but from what I saw Hopkins didn't look ready he just didn't seem like his mind was there
No Dawson ain't no killer I genuinely feel B-Hop he was hurt
Dawson aint no killer?..Boy u must not have ever seen him at his best...He had some bad fights that made people forget why they used to call him "Bad" Chad....He was only training four months for pascal and glen, because he wanted to spend time with his family....But he is back to training 10 weeks....You dont know **** about Dawson, but you gonna learn today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mBWxYlZasI
I think he tried to get a cheap DQ win rather than face what may have been a difficult night where he was uncertain he would win.
Yeah. This is what i feel or get a point deduction. But he is old so who knows if injury could be legit. I just dont buy the story he was losing 2 rnds in the fight.
Prime example of "you'll see what you want to see".
You don't like him, think he's overated, think he would of lost - you'll see a man looking for a way out.
Either way Hopkins copped a lot of hate for that fight when Dawson was the dip **** who picked him up...

You think he's a legend (as I do), you'll know he's far to good and see there is no sense in faking an injury.
You think he loves to win (as I do), you'll consider he was after a quick DQ win.

Really, if he didn't want the fight then why is the rematch going down? Surely he'd find a way to get out of it if that was the case. We all know Bhop is a slow starter and regardless of how Dawson looked in those two rounds, anything could have happened had this match stretched on.
I explained the injury to a physical therapist who has no sort of bias, and she said he would've been able to finish, since it wasn't bad enough for surgery.
Yeah, I don't think Hopkins is thrilled to rematch Chad.
hopkins avoided dawson for years. in the very limited time in the ring with him, he wasn't doing too good. i'm not gonna say he quit because he was scared but i do think he thought he could get a dq win and be done with dawson and it backfired. i think hopkins knows dawson is a VERY difficult matchup for him.

I think I those two rounds he saw he couldn't beat Dawson and had a bad game plan and chose to quit to come back with a new one not saying he'll win but it'll Prbly be close
Dawson going to win easily. It won't be close at all. Dawson looked impressive and more importantly, much more confident in his rematches with the old guys before Hopkins (Tarver, Johnson).
No, his shoulder was actually swollen, you could see that a few minutes after the injury. Hopkins is an extremely experienced boxer and saying that he "knew he wasn't going to win" in round 2 is just absurd.
Now, maybe the injury wasn't as bad as he tried to make us think it was, but it still was an injury.
No Dawson ain't no killer I genuinely feel B-Hop he was hurt
Stand up straight and Chad could knock your head off. Chad is a killer, don't let that little Daffy Duck voice fool you. Lbvs
I believe he did not.
I do believe he was trying to milk the "injury" for what it was worth and it backfired on him.
People saying in 2 rounds he knew he wasn't going to win? Hopkins always starts pretty conservately.
This. It was an old trick too far from B-Hop.
