HBO Boxing: 2 Days - Portrait Of A Fighter - Brandon Rios

This was pretty good, who will be the next fighter to do the next episode? For the many of you who are excited by these features, as I am, you're in luck. HBO will air "2 Days: Portrait of a fighter - James Kirkland" on this upcoming Saturday. This feature will be on Kirkland during the 2 days prior to his upset victory of Alfredo Angulo. This will air 15 minutes prior to Saturday's Alexander/Maidana telecast on HBO. I got this info from Dan Rafael during a chat a few weeks back, and I have confirmed it by looking at my cable TV guide. Can't wait.

these little showcases by HBO are awesome, even though I am not a Rios fan whatsoever, this was a cool little thing. Rios will have no choice but to move up in weight to at least 140, and he will get clobbered there, and any weight above that one. He doesnt have enough skill to beat the top guys in those hot divisions. Gamboa will beat him also

I agree, and he clearly knows that. But I figured, if he stayed at 135 this long, and did it succesfully, its because he believes the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. I think the only reason he's opting to move to 140 after Gamboa is because he physically cant make it to 135 anymore. He wont be able to muscle dudes around as easily at welterweight. That maybe true, or he might carry some of that power up to 140, I mean 140 isn't as packed as it was a while ago anyways. I just hope he can make the weight properly for the Gamboa fight so we can have a great fight, cause I honestly feel like he's gonna struggle again.

I'm pretty shocked Rios had the energy and stamina to keep throwing bombs for so many rounds. Not making excuses for him missing the weight, but the dude has incredible will in that ring.

brandon is too big for 135...i don't know if a better nutrisionist will make a difference in makign it easier for him to get down to 135... he has outgrown 135 division i think.

Yup but mostly because he was irresponsible. If he stays in shape after the fight he can make it easier but I still think he belong at WW. Cool little thingie though. Pretty cool to see that process before the fight.
