Wladimir Klitschko has called for action to be taken following the Munich brawl between British heavyweights David Haye and Dereck Chisora.
The two men clashed at the post-fight press conference after Chisora lost a unanimous decision to Klitschko's brother Vitali, the WBC champion.
Wladimir Klitschko, the IBF, WBO and WBA champion, reiterated his disgust at Saturday night's events, which he witnessed first-hand.
"I am shocked and deeply embarrassed by the actions of Dereck Chisora and his team over this past week," he wrote in an open letter.
"It saddens me how he represented the sport of boxing and disrespected the champion of the world Vitali Klitschko at the weigh-in and fight night.
"But even more embarrassing and disgraceful to the sport was the post-fight press conference.
"With journalists from all over the world in attendance, this same man Dereck Chisora, got into a fight with Adam Booth, the trainer of David Haye, and David Haye himself.
"Dereck then promised out loudly multiple times right in front of the press to 'personally SHOOT AND KILL David Haye!!!'
"For all of the great champions from the past that have been polishing the image of the sport of boxing and giving it the glamour, respect and recognition while setting a good example for the youth of the world to follow, this type of behaviour kills all that hard work from the former champs and teaches disrespect for the sport and fellow human beings."
Klitschko added: "There has to be consequences for these kinds of actions and must never be tolerated by the boxing organisations, the media, fellow boxers and boxing fans. It must be stopped, otherwise the sport of boxing is going to go downhill fast.
"I just wanted to share my feelings and thoughts with you and hope some type of action is taken to show the world that the sport of boxing WILL NOT tolerate this kind of behaviour."

Very good point.
And while I don't condone Chisora's actions, it has sparked at least MY interest in seeing a Chisora-Haye bout.
And what the hell, boxing has had all types of crazy altercations outside of the ring itself since, well, inception.
They are FIGHTERS. Not fucking ambassadors to the United Nations.
I'm all for class. But I won't feign outrage when stuff like this goes down.
I'm not outraged, but there is more media than any time in history and it sets a bad precedent that if not dealt with will encourage others to do the same and bring negative criticism to the sport. In every other sport off the field incidents like this are dealt with so as to keep the sport mainstream and legitimate. Its just my opinion, but I think boxing would benefit from that too. I think suspensions are in order. Say 6 months with neither fighters camp even being allowed to negotiate a Wright until that time is up.
Haye knows how to promote himself...they probably sold a match-up now and if Haye can give a solid and convincing beating to Chisora...that would set-up a decent pay-day against Vitali. Waldimir knows this and was just trying to help sell it.
As a representative of the sport it does have something to do with him. And boxing isn't a tickling contest, but it it a sport that should stay between the ropes.
Yeah couldn't have put it better myself...
Agreed...2X!
I agree his actions were uncalled for and unneccessary, but in hindsight, im thinking they were a blessing in disguise.
It actually got people excited for a heavyweight fight. When was the last time that happened? People who wouldnt have watched, watched, because of his actions. People are still talking about it. Ya he's a goon, but its not like people havnt been noticing/getting turned off from corrupt judges, promoters, sanctioning bodies, whining fighters, etc. And its not like fighters havnt been doing crazy sh!t like that before.

It won't just break down the heavyweight division though, it will affect through all weight classes, that's like saying racism doesn't need sorting in football because it's only the Premier League.
I personally think the heavyweight division sucks, but it affects the entire sport.

Wlad is just pissed he got spit on, and is trying to throw him under the bus even more. During the scuffle tho, the sh!t eating grin on his brothers face tells a different story. Im sure he had a smile on his face too.

Yeah couldn't have put it better myself, I do feel that it was wrong for Chisora to do all them things but to be fair it has got everyone talking about boxing in the limelight, yeah it may not all be good but if a fight was to come from this (Which I don't believe would) loads of people that wasn't interested in boxing would go and watch.
In a way the actions of both Haye and Chisora have woken up the world to boxing, they will get what's coming to them with more people interested in boxing than before.
why should he be 'shocked and deeply embarrassed by the actions of Dereck Chisora ' , who the **** is he trying to please ?!
its got **** all to do with him , should have kept his mouth shut . It's boxing not a tickling contest

Because people care about the heavyweight division?

If Haye and Chisora were both banned for life nobody outside of the UK would give a sh*t anyway.
They're both worthless boxers and had they been from France nobody would have ever cared in the first place and the fact that they were both f@gs would be much more easily excused.
Bashing the Brits, even if both Haye and Chisora walked through the brothers then you would still say the same sh*t
Lettuce be real, corrupt money grubbing promoters and sanctioning bodies that are jokes are making the sport go down hill, not the actions of one man.
Whether you want to admit it or not, chisora's actions have breathed some life into the division, aswell as putting the spotlight on them. Otherwise, would have just been another victim to klitschko, quickly forgotten.
