His Coach is just horrendous.
Williams defense is horrible and they never seem to try to improve it.
Calling the Sergio KO a lucky punch and the Lara fight a off night.....
The guy is a complete yesman, telling Williams what he wants to hear, not what he need.
Williams seem to think he has nothing he needs to improve on and it's his garbage coach telling him that-
Williams has maxed out what ever he could get off his current Coach long time ago, he should have left years ago.
Some people will say it's to late to change coaches now.
I think it's absolutely needed.
Williams career depends on it.
He will never evolve or become a champ if he fights the way he does now and his shelf life will decrease even further.
Williams someone that can teach him to fight disciplined and tighten his defense up.
Teach him to fight tall and some ring IQ.
What do you guys think?
Who should be Pauls New coach?
I thought last nights performance was excellent, he hit Ishida with everything but the kitchen sink! He hit him with some hard shots too. I think Ishida just takes a really good punch. But yeah, a new coach like Steward would do him alot of good. He busted Ishida up though and he took a ton of punishment so I don't think that Williams deserves critisizm at least not for that fight. And also I don't think Williams has a bad chin, he just got hit with the perfect punch against Martinez, in that respect it was a lucky punch, it was perfect and Williams didn't see it, so to land that punch again, would be unlikely.
If he's hell-bent on keeping the same style, I think he needs to get a better strengthening/conditioning coach. Put more hurting inside that volume punching. At times last night he was landing big punches that looked like they were having little effect on Ishida, even though he was clearly dominating him.

Oxnard? Even though Robert Garcia has his hands full.
Williams unlike others (Pavlik) will proly never come to realize that his game plan needs work.
Change at this stage could be risky however a tweak into more of a boxer-puncher would be good for Paul imo instead of swarming all the time.
I wouldn't mind seeing him vs James Kirland next.
yeah Peterson is OLD, it takes him awhile just to get in the Ring after every round
he don't have to completely replace him but how about adding another Trainer in your corner or something, Williams is still the same fighter IMO, very wild and clumsy, he is not going to change, this is who he is, he is a WILD FIGHTER who seems to get stronger when he can get off his Punches and use his High Work Rate

Loyalty has destroyed many of fighters.
He wont leave Peterson and anyway i think it is too late too change,he is what 31 now.If i were to change him id give him to another offensive trainer a Javier Capetillio,Abel Sanchez,Mario Morales even Roach. Most will probably mention Manny Steward but its too late in my opinion
