After Jim Gray finishes interviewing him, he says
"I always wanted to meet Don King, but after meeting him. He's a racisct and an a$$hole"
Does anybody have any clue what that's about.
actually this Forum automatically blocks that Word...AND RIGHTFULLY SO!
yeah, but that wasn't the point of him saying that, although it was not the most eloquent way of saying it, but it appears to me that don king was pointing out the old mind set and perception of the way people thought about mexicans, probably even don king himself, but now king is making big bucks with them and everyone has the ability to do that in amerika.......
i don't think he was race baiting, and although i know racism is out there, i don't think or operate in that manner, nothing is safe or sacred to me or safe from me, I am a comedian by trade, and nothing is off limits, and as far as race is concerned, on a personal level, i think it's a slave mentality, while the powers that be are all different colors and races and they do deals together, that only benefit them and their interests, not the people, and they give us racism to divide and concur the masses so we'll never organize or realize we make this WORLD work, not our so called leaders and supposedly industrial giants, the GRUNCH of GIANTS. and sadly, we're IMMERSED in racism, and we all play along, and the divide is so deep it seems like it will never heal or be able to be filled up, leveled and forgotten.
names are just names, and although designed to strike emotional cords, i pay no mind to them, i use them to my advantage, i laugh, i make fun of them, i amuse to diffuse.......... negativity loses, not me.
don king said in that quote, you left it out, that, the w*tb*cks were yesterday's nobodies and now they're today's CEO's, now they're somebody. lets not edit things out to make you look like you're 100% in the right, use the full content and still prove your point, thanks.
oh sh!t my fault, I copied and past that from a Website, now i see how they edit people comments to start controversy
but still Chris Arreola took it as Racist so...
it is a dumbass comment by king, as usual, but I see what he was trying to say. just said it a horrible manner.
naw NOBODY should try to defend that Ignorant comment, because if it was Oscar Talking about a Black Fighter like that, this would be Top Story on ESPN
what is wrong is WRONG, NO FUKIN FORM OR RACISM should be acceptable
even with the FULL Comment about "TODAY CEO's"...Chris Arreola clearly too offense to that comment

it is amazing to me how people spent the entire week attacking Mayweather for a Tweet that wasn't even Racist but nobody covered or said anything about Don King's comment:
"We even brought in a Mexican-American to give him a chance to get out and be at the front of the forefront. No more w*tb*cks running up and down picking the fruits and things. Now, we're rolling, you know what I mean," King said
:nonono: King should be banned from boxing for a year for such STUPID AND IGNORANT COMMENT...but I wasn't from Mayweather so nobody cares I guess :nonono:
if I was Arreola I would feel the exact same way!

i think they really fvcked up in the fact that arreolas interviews are marketing masterpieces, ESPECIALLY GOING AFTER A PROMOTER!!! DON KING!!!
gray should've told arreola to watch his mouth and continued the interview and get to the bottom of what arreola was saying....
censorship like that was knee jerk at the very least, because those are EXACTLY the interviews we want to see as fans, we want to hear and see the DIRT that goes on in the sport!
not about a fat guy losing weight, getting props for doing something he should've been doing since he chose to be a professional.
we want to hear real sh!t, gray being the veteran as$hole, should've known how to handle arreola and that sort of mess.
gray went into full blown amateur mode and apologist suck up mode IMMEDIATELY, running scared.....
for a guy who's done thousands of interviews and had control of conversations throughout his whole career, to crumble like that, so fast, was a sign of him to WRAP IT UP YO!, because i'd rather see someone BURRY THEMSELVES than to watch someone being censored......
thats all I have to say about that.

"We even brought in a Mexican-American to give him a chance to get out and be at the front of the forefront. No more wetb@cks running up and down picking the fruits and things. Now, we're rolling, you know what I mean," King said, drawing more than a few gasps from the assembled media and supporters of the Sweet Science. "That's what makes this country so great, you know what I mean? Yesterday's nobody is tomorrow's somebody. So I'm very thrilled and I'm humbly honored to be in Corpus Christi. Texas, hear my cry. V-I-C-T-O-R-Y. Victory is ours."
Don King is out of control, no wonder Showtime took the mic away.
