To refresh your memory: Floyd vs Ortiz - 1 WW fight prior to fighting Floyd. Berto was laughed at and questioned for fighting nobody's prior to Ortiz and knocked down Ortiz twice. Ortiz also drew in a 140lb fight prior to that. Floyd vs Marquez: 0 WW fight prior to fighting Floyd. Marquez was 2 fights away from his 130lbs days and was in uncharted terrirtory when Floyd changed his mind on the 144lbs CW and fought at 146lbs CW. Floyd vs Hatton: Last 2 fights prior to Floyd was at 140lbs because he felt more comfortable/effective at 140lbs but then for the money and the chance to fight Floyd, Hatton agreed to fight at 147lbs. The worst thing about it is that on many of those occasions, Floyd picked on fighters such as those above and avoided fighting true WWs. Perfect example was fighting Hatton instead of an undefeated Cotto, Margarito, P.Williams, Clottey and now Manny. At least: - Manny vs Marquez has history and Marquez always gave him trouble - Manny vs Bradley who everyone wanted Manny to fight until it became a reality. Now the haters are coming out and starting these threads.

He is almost the exact same size (height, reach, weight) as the great Jimmy McLarnin who also started as a teen around the same size. Pac seems small for Welter to some because of the day before weigh-in. He's not. He's the same size as many of the best and a little bigger than some.
