I'm in no way a chavez fan but hes way to big for floyd hes taller and would have over 20 pound advantage over floyd. floyd will slowly get broken down he won't be able to stay away from jr all fight n jr.sill keep walkin him downto ropes or corner like he did to rubio. floyd wouldn't be able to stay off the ropes all night
I mean it's cute to talk about how this fight might play out but bottom line is Chavez is just too damn big for us to really even be having this talk. We are talking about a guy who just went life or death with the scale to make 160 for his last fight and rehydrated to over 180. just not really a plausible scenario.
Chavez isn't forcing Floyd to the ropes that easily. Floyd can circle Chavez faster than Chavez can run him backwards... Floyd can side step faster than Chavez can cut off the ring. It's a basic side step and circle, pot shot. Floyds potshots won't be worthless, because they will be clean, accurate, wow the crowd and score points.
In the center of the ring, Chavez doesn't have a prayer, Floyd will slip and counter and move. Floyds footwork and reflexes win this fight.
I disagree entirely. Chavez's size plays a determining factor in this fight along with the body punchers mentality. There is no way that Floyd goes 12 rounds without getting hit. Those middleweight power body shots are gonna fold Floyd over. Floyd has never sustain a constant attack on his body. He is used to fighting boxers or boxer punchers that head hunt. He can move & potshot all day, however we're talking about a Floyd that hasn't been moving much in his last 2 fights.
I beg to differ on the bold. Weight absolutely matters in this fight. Chavez doesn't need to think if Floyd cannot hurt him. Chavez is a bad matchup for Floyd. No one can tell me Chavez won't be able to find Floyd & body up on him in the space of 12 rounds.
Picture JLC exept almost twice as big with twice as much power. Big problems for floyd who is an average size or smaller welterweight, come on homey.

Floyd doesn't need power to win, he doesn't have to hurt Chavez to win.
All he has to do is pot shot, stay in the center of the ring.
JCC isn't quicker on his feet either, he wouldn't be trapping anyone on the ropes, and Floyd wouldn't let him just beat on his body. It would be a case of JCC JR trying to find the target all night and failing.
Anyone who's been in the ring and fought or sparred knows full well that weight doesn't mean anything if you're in the ring with a quick master boxer. You could have 50lbs on them and it doesn't make a difference if you can't keep up.
Either Chavez lands a bomb and knocks him out or he barely wins a round.

Chavez wouldn't come in there trying to think. There's no need. cut of the ring, force Floyd to the ropes & work the body. Chavez will land, it's rediculous to think that he won't. We're not talking fighters like Oscar or ortiz, we're talking about a huge, bonified body puncher. Floyd's potshot will be worthless & useless as Chavez walks him down & forces him into the corner. Matter of fact the only way Floyd even looks halfway decent if it's Cortez in there refusing to allow Chavez to body Floyd up.

The only way Floyd doesn't beat Chavez Jr, is if he gets caught by a single KO punch... or at 35/36 yrs old he doesn't have the legs to keep on the move.
If we assume it's the floyd of 32-33 years old with good legs... it's a wrap.
Are you really?? Floyd's power is absolutely minimal at 160. Chavez has genuine pop. He's huge. He's a great body puncher. He has fairly decent stamina. You're not talking about a fighter that fears being hit in Chavez. You're talking about a fighter that will bully Floyd to the ropes & stay strickly to Floyd's midsection with genuine middleweight power. I sugest you really rethink your pick here.

at 160? Chavez would be over 180 and Floyd would probably stay at 160 on fight night. Big advantage for Chavez.
Weight doesn't mean ****, unless Floyd plans on letting Chavez lean on him all night :lol1:
I think there are two scenarios, one is where Mayweather's superior skills and slickness makes Chavez think more than he's used to which leads to him becoming hesitant with his attack. Or two, once Chavez feels Mayweather can't hurt him, he just bulls Mayweather around the ring, there is like a 30 pound size difference between them on fight night.
