Personally, I think Cotto makes it quite entertaining but I see Mayweather winning a clear decision (117-111 ish).
I made a promo for this fight, any feedback will be well appreciated :boxing:
I think Cotto might be able to win a couple early rounds, before Floyd figures him out, then Floyd will pot shot him to a fairly easy ud. Dam, i hate to see Cotto lose after all the work he's done to make a comback from the 2 beatdowns he took from Margo and Pac.
I suspect he might just be "cashing out", and calling it a career. Personally, i find it kind of hard to believe he really thinks he can beat Floyd. We'll see if he fights after this, i guess. I doubt Floyd can do much damage to him.
Floyd is fast and elusive, but not a power puncher or pressure fighter. If there are any knockdowns, i bet it's just Cotto's gloves touching the canvas.
Since Floyd moved to 147 Cotto is his biggest challenge. Cotto is bigger, stronger, is at his best against boxers with low punch output and has one of the best jabs in boxing.
120-108 Mayweather, Cotto is done at elite level, I hope Cotto isnt dumb enough to believe Mayweather has a low punch output...

Unless somehow Cotto becomes MUCH harder to hit overnight this is going to become target practice for Mayweather after round 4. I think it will become one of those situations where Cotto is ready to be stopped around the 10th, it will just become a matter if Mayweather is willing to step on the gas and force the issue or just cruise to a fairly easy decision.
Cotto will end up a bloody mess, with his corner stopping it around the 9-10th round. After 3 rounds of making it interesting, cotto goes into survival mode.
I cant speak for Cotto, but if i got a shot a Floyd at 154 I would simply overwhelm him.
2-3 rounds at best.
Just saying.
Although being 6"5 and 120kg's im not 100% sure i could make 154lbs.
But if i did, Floyd, you better run god dam it.
u see, when PBF was still competing @ 130-135, he traded leather more with his foes... augustus, manfredy, chico...
hav u seen this fights? ( specially with augustus) he seemed to be very different then than he is now where he is fighting in the higher weights...
i can share the videos here but im too lazy...:)
I dont know brah, he was more of a stick and move fighter imo, especially against jlc. As of late, he has been becoming a more stationary fighter, granted his reflexes and athletic ability are still crazy, but he aint getting any younger. Moving up to 154, he also gonna get any faster. You're delusional if you think cotto cant touch mayweather imo.
Ofcourse he is a different fighter now, but he is becoming more stationary footwork wise, for whatever reason. I dont really see him changing that for cotto, until cotto catches him with good shots, and he changes gameplans midfight. Its gonna be a damn good fight, regardless of who wins.
Lol, what are you smoking?

Cotto is going to take too many shots. A TKO wouldn't even surprise me. Mayweather is just too precise and damaging for a fighter like Cotto who is by no means elusive.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, this fight is legacy building it's good for Floyd without being a great challenge. Cotto has the following accolades:
- He's a Champion.
- He might end up in the WBHF.
- He's a "name."
- He's a fighter Pacquiao fought, so it evens out their resumes.
Cotto is just going to become a statistic when we start discussing Floyd's resume after he retires. People will look over the fact he was past his best.
maybe when PBF is on an off night...
or maybe when cotto summons the gameplan of JLC when the mexican first fought PBF and makes it (the gameplan) even better....
but i doubt it... JLC's footwork is superior to that of cotto (hence was excellent in cutting the ring) JLC was able to take PBF out of his comfort zone a few times by staying with him and forcing him to engage more than he wanted to...
and add the fact that PBF employed less potshotting and dancing and engaged more against his foes in the lower weight classes...
this 154 version of PBF will be more elusive and slippery than he was at 130-135...
