Donaire convincingly beat a good fighter. This wasn't a fighter struggling with a bum, or having a close fight with someone he was supposed to knock out, or anything like that. Now he's trash, and loses to everyone else at 122 and has no chance against anyone at 126.
I swear, if any great fighter looks the least bit vulnerable against another good fighter, he's automatically trash around here. Mayweather's trash because Mosley caught him with two right hands, Pacquiao's trash because he struggled with Marquez, Bradley is trash for not looking perfect against Alexander, Gamboa was trash for not blowing away Salido until Salido stopped Lopez, etc.
I'd love to see a list of fighters that have always looked perfect against other good fighters.
It his funny how some people write someone off now.
Nothing happened last night to change my mind that Nonito is a great fighter and will have a great career. Still think he beats everyone at 118-122, but Moreno and Rigondeaux would be tough fights.
And I still think Rigo can beat Donaire, but that's just me. Donaire is great, but I don't think he's this unbeatable force at 118-122 like his fans make him out to be. Yes, Vazquez was a decent win, but nothing more. Wilfredo's first real step up in competition was a tiny Jorge Arce who TKO'd him. A decent win, nothing more.
Donaire-Rigondeaux is still the fight.
Moreno and Rigondeaux are the only two I could see beating Donaire at 122 or 118, wherever he would fight them. But while they may frustrate him and outbox him, they may face the same problem everyone else that fights Donaire does, where they get smacked when they open up and aren't active enough worrying about getting smacked again.
Btw you might as well apply your own logic to everyone. After all Martinez was all hype after struggling with a young undefeated fighter that he stopped, remember??
Barker is a nobody. Martinez deserved criticism for struggling in that fight. Young, undefeated, and never having fought anyone relevant in his life, which is often the case with young and undefeated.
What is also funny is that Donaire beats Vazquez, which is a decent win for Nonito, and people just say "Nonito just beat a good fighter, it wasn't some bum in there, etc". But, when Victor Ortiz convincingly beats Andre Berto, all he did was beat an overrated hype-job. If a fighter like Berto is a hype-job than what is Wilfredo Vazquez Jr, who's first step up in competition was against a tiny Jorge Arce who TKO'd him.
Vazquez was a decent win, nothing more. Rigo still gives nonito all the problems in the world and he is much faster than WV2 and has the speed to match Donaire. Nonito wouldn't be clowning in the fight like he was. Yes, Donaire is a great fighter, but he should fight Rigo.

Im a huge Donaire hater, he did seem very vulnerable against a fighter who doesnt have any background experience. 122 is a division of no fools, and Donaire is a fool he got a chin ready to get cracked by Rigondeaux right now.
donaire has been in with harder punchers before and to my knowledge has never been knocked down or that significantly hurt..he ate up some pretty clean/hard right hands against vazquez jr too, but never seemed too fazed by them. Donaire's chin/punch resistance is pretty good.

wtf kind of stupid comment is this? what i would do is irrelevant. and what i do know is that his bodywork was non existent and he got hit a lot. shut up and go back to ur corner d*ckhead.
"non-existent" is a little unfair...he did land some significant body shots in the fight especially in the early rounds, but there was just not too much of them. donaire can throw some vicious body shots too...

And a body ready to get SNATCHED!
Donaire ****ed up his hand, and that was probably because he was too focused on getting Vasquez outta there. His mind-state changed the way he typically fights. Vasquez exceeded my expectations, I thought he would get stopped in the 10th but he jabbed his way through and was able to absorb Donaire's blows really well. He fought a smart fight, and Donaire fought a dumb one.
Yea because you would do better and you know better. lol!

boxing fans are a very fickle bunch...one day they're praising donaire and the next they're trashing and discrediting everything he's done...
Nonito just doesn't press the action. He allows opponents back in the fight by watching them and waiting, waiting for a counter opportunity. He also keeps throwing 1 punch KO shots instead of combos. But the worse par.t I don't like about Nonito is he turned his back on his la familia. It is reported his Grand pa and ma would be happy Nonito get's knock the **** out!!This guy is a douche.
I think donaire def deserves some criticism for his last to showings. He's very talented bursar he does best, IMO is imitation. He has the natural ability to imitate Roy and serg etc. But he's not very intelligent in the ring at all. He's shown that in 2 fights now. He doesn't know how to open his opponents up. All he had to do was quit it with the headhunting last nite and focus on the body and WV2 would've been out of there. That and his defense was kind of lacking. He's still an amazing talent but he needs to think n stop showboating. Its the truth.
His last 2 opponents are scared to death of opening up after Montiel and seeing Donaire throwing bombs.
But i agree he needs to stop show boating and just box the guys and let KO's come and not look for them
This is my first time being on here since the fight so I haven't seen the reaction.
But, it's no surprise that idiot fans have criticized Donaire. It's how it goes on here, simple as that.
As for the fight, I thought Donaire would win easier, but, he was solid, he did what he had to do and got the decisive victory in his first fight at 122 against a good fighter.
At one point, I thought Vasquez may get the victory, but then the KD changed the momentum. I can't wait for the rest of his 112 run.
man....donaire was a 20:1 favorite he was supposed to smash this bum . stop acting like this was anything but a gimme just because donaire is nowhere near as good as he is being hyped as evidenced by his last 2 fights.
He's a 20:1 to favourite and he won convincingly...
Your point is?
