Disclaimer: The title is not a quote of Mayweather. It is too separate documented things he said he was willing to do. It's paraphrased and the quotes should be removed. At the end of the day, those are the things he said he'd be willing to do. But that's besides the point as that is not the thread's main point. It's simply about the reality that CW's have existed for a long time and have a place in boxing.
Note: This thread was inspired by a fan in Fat Dan's Chat. Also, all Pacquiao and Mayweather huggers please exit this thread now. I know you won't listen, but it was worth a shot. Here we go:
The fact that Mayweather is willing to fight Cotto at 154 but would make Martinez drop to 150 speaks volumes.
Obviously the issue of weight has nothing to do with caring whether or not his opponent is comfortable, but more about he doesn't feel he needs to adjust his weight to win. And if he can overcome a small sticking point and insult Pac at the same time? All the better. If Mayweather/JMM didn't tell you that Mayweather doesn't care about CW's, then I guess you aren't going to get it.
With that said though, it's not just Mayweather. Pac has used catchweights. Cotto attempted to make Margario fight below 154 for their rematch(so for everyone, Cotto included, b*tching about CWs? What a joke.) And throughout boxing history, many, many fighters have used catchweights.
It's all a matter of one fighter having more clout than his opponent, a genuine need for a catchweight between two fighters from different weight classes, or a CW being treated as a bargaining chip in a negotiation. At the end of the day, they exist, they aren't great. BUT they are a part of boxing and there are many guilty parties.
Really?
Are you sure Mayweather Jr will fight Martinez, if Martinez agreed on 150lbs?
Come on guys, if Martinez say its gonna be 55-45 in favor of Martinez do you think Mayweather Jr agree?
In the past, Mayweather Jr say he's gonna fight Pacman if He is going to take the test!
But when Pacman agreed, he changed his mind!
Let him go to Jail...
He didnt agree without changing the date so agreeing but adding in other clauses is not really agreeing is it , the date was very important to Floyd signing , if Pac had of agreed to 40 mill and May 5th fight would have been made , it goes both ways kid , at the end of the day Floyd fights the guy Pac wanted but ducked because he could not get another CW on him , so then Pac runs of looking for a 140 pounder lol .
Bottom line , guess who gets things just the way they wanted from the get go ,,,,,, Bob Arum ! , you think signing Bradley was just coincidental lol , on second thoughts you would , your a Pac fanboy .
The lies of Pactards. Guys, Puga is a troll where ever he goes. Drew also. Throw on Deeval, and you have tbe dream team of trolls.
if it's a troll thread, yes im a troll....but on this particular thread, hell ****ing no , you flomos are just in denial that floyd would ONLY fight sergio at 150......he said it himself, you just gotta read between the lines and stop the denial.....
Really?

You're a psychic now? :smashfrea
If Pacquiao or Mayweather had any intentions of fighting Martinez at 154, it would've happened by now. What they say to the media is bull. But its true to you when Floyd says it and false when Pac says it....lol the joys of being a fantard.
Exactly. It's not like he is forcing Martinez down or anything, like Pac does to his opponents.
Martinez made the challenge and Floyd accepted it.
The only reason he put it out there is because he knows both guys are too puzzy to fight him at his real weight....LOL. Hes been calling them out for years to fight him at 154.
Oh but Floyds only "answering" LOL. Mr "I make the offers, no one offers me anything". The spin is too funny.
and he accepted, and you're still *****ing :puppy_dog Do you get paid to complain on the forum or something?
He accepted? So when are they fighting? LOL....do you get paid to suck Floyd's ****?
Why is this thread not banned yet? Unless i see a DIRECT quote from Floyd saying he'll only fight Martinez at 150 and not 154, i won't believe this.
These guys are quoting Dan Rafael. Please get a direct quote from Floyd.
Um, because Maartinez made the challenge to him. He just accepted.
:lol1:
Martinez has been challenging him for years. Man just give up. You sound stupid right now
Last time I checked, Sergio was loudly calling out Floyd at 150, just to turn around and say he doesn't wanna fight Floyd yet.....at any rate,it is not a fight that should really happen if he would struggle to shrink down to 150-154.
Let it go homie.
You're acting like he killed negotiations for a Martinez fight for accepting what Martinez offered in an interview :puppy_dog
No Im not actually. Why do you keep misinterpreting what Im saying?
Its that Floyd "I don't do catchweights" Mayweather and his fantards (you) have contradicted themselves again. Why Cotto at 54 but "If Sergio Martinez makes 150"
Where does Floyd say he'd ONLY fight Sergio at 150? 'Cause he hasn't. He just accepted what Martinez offered.
Why do you keep asking that?
He said "If Sergio Martinez makes 150lbs"
Why are you still talking and trying to make excuses? You all keep talking about Pacquiao is if that changes the fact that Mayweather is full of shiit, contradicted himself and made his little worshippers look foolish again :lol1:

Exactly. The pactards on this forum like to jump on any little scraps they think they saw.
it's about limiting risk (catchweights) and making top dollar. Same goes for Manny. Make the smaller guys come up (Bradley), and the bigger guys come down (Cotto).
It's business.
when has Floyd ever made an opponent come down to a catchweight ever?
Floyd wont ever fight Sergio at 154. Actions speak louder than words. He doesnt have to SAY anything. The fight will never happen. Much too much risk, not enough monetary reward. Floyd is a businessman, its not about giving the fans the best fights, it's about limiting risk (catchweights) and making top dollar. Same goes for Manny. Make the smaller guys come up (Bradley), and the bigger guys come down (Cotto).
It's business.

This all sounds like when Manny fought Oscar at 147 but asked for 145 for Cotto!
Lol, can you imagine Martinez hitting Pacquiao with the same punch he floored Paul Williams with?? Pacquiao would go FLYING!!!!
Did you see the answer why Pac said after the Margarito fight that he will never fight again above 147? This weight is already too high for him.
Whats this bitch fest about?
Sergio stated he would fight either guy at 150lbs. Each fighter was then asked if they would fight Sergio at 150lbs. One is blatantly ducking Sergio after stating he would fight him at 150lbs, the other is willing and open to fighting him at 150lbs.
:lol1:
The thread isn't about Pacquiao though. We all know Pacquiao aint fighting Sergio.
The point is that Floyd and his idiotic fans have contradicted themselves and made themselves look stupid yet again :lol1:

How does that work?
Oh yeah, I guess its when you're a fantard of one fighter.
