Would you match anyone to beat floyd mayweather right now?
Pacquiao?
Lets face it, after Pac's last fight the majority of people think he would be countered and pot shotted to death by floyd and the odds are that he will.
Cotto?
Cotto has some skill left after his whooping from marg and pac but he struggled with mosley and has he really got the pressure to take out mayweather? His left body shot that he seems to of abandoned would be his biggest tool, but floyds right elbow will probably block that.
Marg, Mosley?
Well we know the answer to Mosley, Marg is past prime and a punching bag right now.
Martinez, Alvarez?
Would prob have to fight him at 147 to floyd's advantage, and he would just pick them apart.
Anyone else?! and don't say berto or ortiz.
IMO mayweather will retire (when he decides to) undefeated.
We now again seeing that he can still do an offensive array of attacks since he was still 'pretty boy' and hungry. This guy has both amazing defense and can choose to be offensive when he wants. He claims he has only ever used his 'C' game and we can see that now with his attacking skill coming forward.
I'm a fan of all boxers and appreciate the blood and sweat to be at that level, but lets be realistic..As of right now Mayweather is unbeatable!? Someone, give me another perspective!
there are some fighters out there who have a punchers chance and could beat him if they landed that one shot.. mosley, canelo, pacquiao etc..
anything can happen in boxing, but the chances of someone acctually beating floyd mayweather are very slim imo. the only person who can beat floyd right now is floyd himself.
martinez is a big dumb cry baby b i t c h he aint nobody just cause he got a lucky punch against williams he thinks he is the big shiet around boxing he aint earn nothing yet to be calling out top boxers its a old fool desperat calling out fighter some days he talks shiet about cotto then pacquiao then mayweather this guy is another joke that when he gets a real fight they gona **** him up so bad that he aint gonna talk shiet ever again!!!!
pound4pound sergio
sergio martinez iz the best match 4 floyd...the whole boxing world knows...dats why chavez will not step n da ring wit him...take note...martinez knocked out his last 5 vicrims
Whew after reading the first three pages, I can't take no more.
QUESTION:
WHO or which is the first ELITE Welter Weight in his prime that Jr has whupped ??????
Remember the flurry against Ortiz,,, amateurish !!! IF he does that against Cotto or Pac he will get cracked
Seriously?

i agree with some posters that zab was his toughest fight, and what was zab at 147 really? a dude with huge balls that lost to all elite ww's but one really and was kostya's b i at 140

Sure you have Bernard Hopkins here, being competitive at 68 years old, but as dirty and efficient people think Floyd is, he just doesn't have more tricks than B-Hop. Floyd and Bernard live very similar lifestyles in which they take care of their body very similar, but I think B-Hop has $ to motivate him since he didn't make what he wanted in the early-middle part of his career, while Floyd has all the money in the world and made 10's of millions in his 20's and even more in his 30s.
Nard also started pro late and didn't have the same extensive amateur career.
He had less wear and tear on his body even though he was older.

I'd agree with Floyd if he wants to retire by 47. Jones first loss was at 34 and it was a bad one, and he never become a real threat to any one after that. Before that loss people thought he was Superman who no one within 160-175 could beat him. JCC was like 32 when DLH first kicked his ass I think.

Martinez at MW is the only fight where Floyd is in clear danger of losing, cuz we've never seen him at that weight before. I would have Martinez as the favorite at MW. At JMW, I have Floyd as a slight favorite.
Lets be honest, any fight Mayweather takes, he'll most likely win...at the same time, any fight he takes, he will be said to be "ducking" someone else...this guy cant fight EVERYBODY. If he beats Cotto, and is ready for Pac....he ducked Martinez.
If he fights Martinez, then he's ducking Pac. This guy will never get his credit for taking on the best challengers. Even after he beats Cotto, ohhhh its too late...this fight is overdue...
Lets be clear, there is no fighter skilled enough to put a gameplan together to beat this guy. The only way to beat May is the puncher's chance. I agree with all of those who said he is far more skilled. He has the science down too well..I think Cotto has a better chance than Pac does. Way more skilled...even though he lost to him...styles make fights...Standing and throwing punches and being off balance like Pacquiao will get u picked apart by Mayweather. If Cotto
had better defense, counter punching, and stamina...he could have won that fight..
So you're saying its completely impossible for him to fight pac then sergio?
Hey Reed, how long do you think Floyd has until he falls off and is past it???
I say he has 2 more years (2012-2013) of good fighting left in him. After that, all bets are off.
I don't think Floyd wants to fight past 35-36 though.
At 37, all bets are off...
Why, he's fighting Cotto at a full 154.
yes, but Floyd will not come in at a full 154..hes okay with Cotto rehydrating, because hes much smaller than Martinez..but Martinez would rehydrate to a much heavier weight..he would be giving up way too much weight at 154..
Sergio needs to take on the fights in his division..and stop calling out smaller fighters..but skill wise..Floyd would make Sergio look oh so ordinary..Sergio keeps his hands down(no, not just when hes comfortable, he always does it!)
thats how he trains..thats his style..and Floyd would make him pay for it!
to answer the TS..NO!..not at this point..but Floyds getting older everyday..
