I agree. I don't think "shot" should be used to describe him. He got beaten rather convincingly by Pacquiao and lost to Margarito, but he won everything else. I don't think he took brutal beatings in those losses. Not the type of beatings that would stay with him indefinitely, at least. This is why fighters only fight once or twice a year. It gives the body a long time to rejuvenate and recover. They say 40 is the new 30, 50 is the new 40 etc. If he is not involved with self-destructive behavior such as substance abuse, and then has access to top trainers, medical practictioners and therapists. I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be physically very good for this fight. I think the fight has potential to be very good and I give Floyd credit for finally fighting Cotto. Better late than never. Maybe Floyd is seeing his own time as top fighter dwindling and decided to go for the fighters he avoided in the past.
