I think Mosley was +325 hell Ortiz opened better then this if you really think he most LIVE dog against Floyd since Oscar in 2007 then your seeing something rest of us aint seeing
He is Ortiz was 8/1 and Mosley 7/1, monster odds.
Floyd tends to go for fighter that aren't give much hope.
Pacquiao on the other was evens to odds on over the last two years.
4/1 for Cotto is ok but Froch was 3/1 against Ward.

Cotto is 4/1 which if far the shortest odds for a Mayweather opponent, since Oscar I think.
Ortiz was something like 8/1 and Mosley 7/1 and I think Marquez was something around that mark.
You can get 2/1 for Floyd to win on pts and 14/1 for Cotto to win on pts
4/5 For Floyd to get the KO, which seems to what the bookmakers think will happen.
And 5/1 for Cotto to get the KO
Exactly. Laying down a G to win 2 measly bills? I'd rather play a couple hands of $50 BJ.
Over/Under has my interest.
Why? Crazy risk. Not likely he'll lose, but that's way too much money to risk for $200.
The money will be on the Final Result and the Over/Under.

Well, Cotto has an underrated jab and hasn't been shut out by anybody really boxing-wise, so we don't have a barometer to measure him against pure boxers (or anybody like Mayweather at least). Has he been overpowered or out-punched? Yes. Pacquiao/Margarito did a number on him but they are volume/offensive fighters.
Mayweather is something different. Mayweather isn't as active and probably can't take the same amount of punishment that he dishes on certain opponents.
On the flip side, Mayweather is a whole different ballpark compared to Cotto's opponents. He has an insane accuracy/opponent accuracy disparity. It's not just his pinpoint punches that you have to be worried about, it's also that you have to keep a cool head or risk missing shots and leaving yourself wide open for extra punishment. Those two strengths he has compliment each other perfectly and statistics don't lie...Cotto eats A LOT of power punches. Look at stats in the Judah fight, the Mosley fight, the Margarito fight, the Clottey fight, the Pacquiao fight, etc. Cotto is a big sucker for power punches.
Cotto's jabs and Mayweather's inactivity (a laughable 4 rounds against Ortiz) should cause the fight to have interesting spots with Cotto having some success once every four rounds. At best, Cotto wins 3 rounds with Floyd showing glimpses of vulnerability that weren't so obvious before due to his age affecting him slightly.
To say Cotto is a live dog is a small compliment, but honestly, to say he has enough for me to actually think, "This could be it! Mayweather could lose this fight." is out of the question. If we were talking about a 160-pound Martínez, or perhaps James Kirkland at 154 (chinny as hell, but has insane stamina and a huge punch to boot with Ann Wolf behind him) then maybe I'd say, "That's a damn dangerous fight for Floyd."
I can't see anybody right now at 140-154 (other than the ones I mentioned) giving Floyd fits to be honest.
Is Cotto worthy of a paycheck? Yes. Is Cotto liked by most fans? Yes. Is Cotto the most solid "B-plan" fighters for Floyd not named Pacquiao (Canelo, Bradley, Martínez)? Yes. And because of this, I think he's become generally accepted. Cotto is still a good fighter that deserves a fight with Mayweather but that's about it. It's more of a case of "deserving" the fight than to really have a high chance of success. If I were to throw a figure out there, Cotto's chances are not past 25%. It's there, but...meh. LOL
I love Cotto to death and I'm rooting for him but think about it...
He avenged his loss against Margarito and knocked Mayorga out, decent wins. Do they fight ANYTHING like Mayweather? This is going to be like Mosley/Mayweather. Mosley went and fought Mayorga/Margarito (!) right before Mayweather now that I think about it...beautiful KO's (nearly same results as Cotto) but this is something entirely different.
Cotto will do the best he can to his abilities, but he has WAY too many holes in his defense for Mayweather's standards and I don't think you can blame anyone for looking bad against Mayweather.
Tough to mess around at that price, Floyd stands a great chance but why take that risk.
If I had money to spare, I'd cover that base JUST incase.
word is floyd just bet $1,000,000 on cotto,,,,cotto gonna shock the world baby,,, i wish you could bet on boxing here in jersey, i'd bet 200 on cotto and flip some of this unemployment doe
And where did you hear that? :nonono:
i would bet 1100 on floyd to make 200 easy

I talk a lot of crap about Cotto (in regards to him fighting Mayweather) but I wouldn't put down that much dough on Floyd.
To be honest, as confident I am in Floyd BEATING Cotto, I'd consider Cotto the most LIVE dog against Floyd since Oscar in 2007.
If I had a $100 to expend, I'd use it.

+425 for Cotto...the plus is good. You put down $100 to win $425. You bet LESS than you win, which is good.
-550 for Mayweather...the minus is bad. You have to put down $550 to win $100. You bet MORE than you win, which is bad.
Thanks....
For the degenerate gamblers.
Miguel Angel Cotto +425
Floyd Mayweather Jr -550
i don't get this
