When Cotto fought Manny he didn't even have a real trainer, and was forced to fight at 145 and had to put his 147 belt on the line.
Now, being his own man, will fight Mayweather at 154, a weight he is comfortable at, and holds a belt in. And last but not least, has a legit trainer guiding him.
This will be a good fight!:boxing:
Nah, that'd be a mistake, best chance for Cotto is fighting quite calm using his jab which I believe is the strongest weapon Cotto has but forgets to use it too often
I think I worded the comment wrong. I didin't really mean go all out carelessly, but like you said...keep calm attack the body but do it smart not just lunge in because Floyd has incredibly fast reflexes and will catch Cotto with hooks and straight rights if Cotto lunges in carelessly.
Cotto has a good jab and will have to use the crap out of it. But attacking the body is a must against Floyd. Castillo had success because of that.
Cotto will have to go all out on Floyd's body and not even think about head hunting because it ain't gonna happen. Everyone always thinks at going for the chin in hopes of catching him, kinda like Shane did. But we all saw what happened after the 2nd round. Floyd turned into a dragon (In the words of Naz Richardson) and he unleashed a serious beatdown on Shane.

Ummm more lateral movement without laying on the ropes? Did you even watch the fight? He had much more stamina or he would've laid on the ropes like he did in the first fight.
Actually I don't know about the stamina, he might have had more, maybe, but I felt he got tired much quicker in the 2nd fight than the 1st, for me difference between those fights came to like u've said better movement, much smarter, getting out of the ropes, better use if the right and most importantly NO PLASTER!!!
Cotto is a legit opponent for Floyd. Its just unfortunate that this didnt happen pre-margarito. If this was the same Cotto that beat Shane and Zab, then alot of people would of been saying otherwise. But even at this stage in Cotto's carreer he is still a legit threat to PBF, It should be a good fight but Floyd will take the fight over midway from the 6-7th round on it will be all Floyd.

If you can't tell the difference between the Cotto that got demolished by Margarito, struggled against Clottey and was dominated against Pacquiao, and the Cotto that outclassed undefeated Foreman, ko'd Mayorga and hardly lost a round in the Margarito rematch, then you need to find a new sport to follow.
Are you fu.k.k.in serious?........
and btw im not hatting on Cotto (one of my fav), good for him, the stupid cheerleaders-a$$holes like yourself i cannot stand.
Have a good one, kid.
Smart, once you're backed into the corner.
The guy who keeps having to repeat himself and go round in circles after getting outsmarted on every single point he's made is the one who's backed into a corner.
But yeah keep telling us how Pac-Morales was the same as Margarito-Cotto or Pac-Cotto :lol1:
Quite the sweeping psychological generalization you're making about how fighters are mentally handling losses, unless you're a sports psychologist in the field of combat, you should stfu now. :)
Yes because it takes a psychologist to figure out that getting brutally beaten twice will have a detrimental effect on a boxers career.
High level stuff right there.
What I don't understand is how Flomo's were crying about a possible Pac/Cotto fight but now are praising Floyd for choosing cotto?
Not saying I support this fight because I am not thrilled with it, however the fact that Manny said he would only fight Cotto at 147 was my real issue with that fight. We both know he wouldn't fight Cotto at 154.
And this has nothing to do with your comment but just in general isn't it funny how as soon as Cotto leaves Top Rank Mayweather fights him. All these years people talking s**t about Mayweather not fighting Cotto and the minute he leaves Bob Arum the fight gets made, coincidence? So funny how all of the fighters Mayweather has supposedly ducked are Top Rank fighters, but one leaves Top Rank and the fight immediately gets made. Funny to me.
So Pac has been washed up since his two bad losses and getting beaten up by Morales? And it's all just been great matchmaking since then?
You know, some time Im gonna get bored and have to cut you off.
Pacquiao got knocked out by single shots and got outboxed by Morales.
He didnt get brutally punished the way Miguel did.
Are you just trolling now?
If he was done, he would have lost.
Uhhh no he wouldn't have.
See the trick is to find bums like Yuri and two guys who are even shotter than you and it fools buffoons into thinking you're back to your best.
Its called great matchmaking. Bob Arum is a genius.
Margarito/Cotto wasn't one-sided. Cotto was spanking him until he gassed out. Mosley's been beat up pretty bad and he came back well, too.
Morales vs Mccollough, Esapada, Barrera twice, Chi, Zaragoza were way worse.
Barrera vs Mckinney, Jones, Maurin and Morales too, and he actually became better after those.
Those were every bit as bad, and they performed well, as well as many others. If Cotto was done he wouldn't be on a 3 fight KO streak and certainly wouldn't have pummelled Margarito as bad as he did.
You're hilarious mate, keep it coming.
3 fight KO streak :lol1:
Against a one legged Rabbi, a one eyed Mexican and a one trick pony
Really? Morales went to war with Barrera and Chi. Barrera with McKinney and Junior Jones twice.
Both came back to perform well afterwards, Barrera, actually became better.
Do you even watch boxing? lol
I do. But I just wanted to laugh at you comparing those fights to the virtually one sided, physical and mental beatdowns Cotto received.
Thanks.
Honestly, Cotto's fights with Mosley, Judah, Clottey and Torres are more comparable to the fights you mentioned
Everyone at my job is excited about Mayweather-Cotto! And they're all big UFC fans. How ironic is that? They say that they don't see the hype behind Pacquiao and that they started watching him fight since Clottey and every fight has been boring except when he fought and lost to Marquez....man I wish they'd post in NSB, Pactards would be working overtime! :lol1:
Did you also tell them you are a d!ck rider?
Because UFC fans love D!ck riders. Thats why they watch UFC.

Tell that to Pacquiao.
And it's been 3 years since those beatings, lots of time to recover. See Morales and Barrera for examples of that.
What beatings did they take? Humour me. You've done a great job so far.
