I voted for Alexander/Maidana winner only because ASSUMING that Maidana wins, I still wanna see Ortiz attempt to avenge that debacle, he may have 'redeemed' himself with Berto but most fans haven't forgotten, I certainly haven't forgot...... "Oh uhm I don't think I deserved to get beat up like this" *smiles*....
all the choice on the poll are good fights for ortiz, but why i see you guys bringing up cotto? imho miguel its not a good fight for ortiz...
Cotto is the #3 PPV star, that fight has everything for Ortiz: recognition and most importantly - MONEY.
COTTO!!!!!!
That's a huge pay-day and a winnable fight. A very, very fan friendly fight - PPV with sellable potential.
i think cottos only interested in the big bucks at this point.
I say Aydin, Porter, maybe Paulie, Bailey, Mathysse, Guerrero, or Mosley. I think those are fights that are makeable on short notice. If it was up to me it would be Mike Jones but that won't happen because Jones is with Top Rank.
I agree, can't really expect somebody like Khan or Cotto to jump in and be ready on short notice. Peterson might, but I think he's probably going to campaign at 140 and lure Khan for a rematch.
Khan because their both young and coming off loses they both would fight their hearts out, i bet neither would wanna loose again or just a thought maybe Cotto? :biggthump
Lamont Peterson for sure. There is unfinished business and each man has a lot to gain from the victory. Peterson winning makes him a legit elite fighter ready for a big PPV type fight. Ortiz winning puts him back in that spot. The issue is the weight - a perfect time for a catchweight. 144, maybe.
The other fight is with Marquez to establish clarity between the two as Welterweight contenders. Winner has to be seen as #3.
Khan fight isn't any good. Khan isn't ready for Welterweight and coming off a loss isn't worth that much to Ortiz.
