Coto was beaten fair and square and made no excuses right after the fight. Now he wants another fight he is making excuses as to why he might have lost and wants another go.
Pac beat Margarito at 150 so weight isnt really an issue.
yea i wish pac felt the same as u...he wont fight at 150 again he said because its to much for him lol....he;s a b1tch
the fighters back in the day didn't need catchweights either.
catchweights have been around in boxing for a long time. even great fighters like sugar ray leonard won titles at a catchweight.
Then fight WWs at WW if you want to claim the win , wtf is a win if you must handicap your opponent to win , and wtf is a 154 title at 150 for a vacant title lol ,,, buddy Pac resume is wack if you bother to scrutinize it past name dropping , its match making to sell a hype job , Pac is a good fighter but a WW hype job just the same , and now Mannys biggest problem is who can he fight thats not a true WW , because he has caught so much for his CWs , he wont dare pull another one on a guy from his own division , in steps Arums first named fighter , Bradley and he is a little guy .
thats why PAc said he will not go over 147 anymore... so anyoyne who wants to fight him, its should be 147 lbs... handicapped? no one see Cotto was handicapped on their first meeting... all announcers/commentators from different cable company see cotto in perfect shape when he enters the ring. of course except flomos and "some" cotto fans was handicapped after few rounds when Pac started to destroy cotto physically and mentally...
People should watch that fight again. Cotto looked VERY good for the first few rounds, until Pacquiao broke him down and hurt him. He was moving, he was jabbing, he was landing good shots to the body, and the weight did not look like it hurt him at all.
I don't get the "wrong gameplan" thing. The only thing Cotto could have done differently was run for 12 rounds, rather than 7.
yeah even at the weigh-in, cotto looked to be in great shape...he didn't look anything like a weight drained fighter (i.e. brandon rios). people go crazy about the 2 lbs..miguel cotto weighed 146 lbs in his previous fight against clottey, so he's just going down 1 lb from his last fight.
the onyl reason pacquiao beat cotto was the huge disparity in class between the two fighters
pacquiao is outright better
weigh has nothing to do with it.
cotto made a decision after about five rounds to stop trying to win to keep from getting knocked out.
he will have no hope in the rematch
yeah cotto was actually doing good in the first and part of the 2nd round. I think after the second knockdown cotto couldn't recover mentally. pacquiao was just the better man that night..plus cotto dhas never to my knowledge explicitly said the catchweight was the main reason he lost, only his fans and pac haters do.
that is why pacquiao is afraid to face cotto at 150, we all know that, broke his ear. cotto will defeat pacquiao wit one hand at 150 or more.
So if Pac were to actually rematch Cotto. There are actual boxing fans who would convince themselves this is a good matchup worth watching. Comical.
The weight wasn't a factor at all and I'm a Cotto fan.
Pacquiao beat Cotto because Cotto couldn't handle the pace and the handspeed of Pacquiao.
Cotto went in with the right plan and tried to box but as soon as Manny stepped up the pace early, Cotto was drawn into a brawl and Pacquiao took advantage.
Cotto wouldn't be able to maintain his own pace like Marquez can because he lacks the defense, toughness and ring IQ that Marquez has.
Pacquiao - Cotto 2 should never happen, terrible fight.
Pacquiao has already proved he's the better fighter.

apparently the blueprint to beat Manny now is to engage as little as possible. I imagine Cotto will stick and move ALOT.
When the 145 CW limit was announed and when they touched gloves to fight, Cotto was confident he was going to beat Pac all the way. He wasnt thinking making 145 has effected me so much i dont think i can beat Pac tonight.
After he was stopped by Pac, the first thoughts that entered Cottos mind wasnt if only i didnt have to lose 2 extra lbs i would have beaten Pac, thats how close this fight was. It was more along the lines of Pac was just too good. Thats what most fighters who were beaten by Pac think, from Morales to barrera through to Diaz.
Its just a case of being honest to yourself to yourself and like a lot of boxers they arent honest. Afterall they are taught to be dishonest. They take a good shot and smile as if it didnt hurt. Cotto is being dishonest and poker faced if he says making weight killed him.
Hugh Grant:
When people say the 145 caused cotto problems, pac fans say no. The same fans say that floyd's 146, 2 lbs over 144, was a huge deal in that fight. Is it fair to argue this?

That CW with Cotto might have effected Cottos performance ever so slightly, but it is miniscule that it cant be measured, therefore cant be used as an excuse.
Pac beat Clottey better than Cotto, simply because Pac is a better fighter. When ATG medals are handied out Pac is way up there, beyong Cotto. That is why Pac beat Cotto.
Cotto is a great fighter, but Pac is elite. Thats the difference between winning and losing at this level.
I didn't like Cotto at first...but the PERSON, SON and FATHER he is made me a fan of his....in the ring I think he does some things totally wrong...such as the way he moves laterally and his defense is so under par at this level that its not funny....with that said I admire him STILL!!!....but Clottey won that...MANY dudes say the fight was Clottey's to take but he didn't take it....I don't think so....IMO he took what he needed to take....7 outta 12 rounds :cool2:
You have just said everything that i think is wrong with Cotto the fighter, I respect him greatly but the way he moves is just too funny to me (Even though its not funny), He has one of the shiitest movement at the elite level for any boxer of his calibre, He gases after the 7-9 rounds and just hasnt look good since he fought Judah or even Mosley.

Cotto, won't agree on that Catchweight, if he thinks he can't beat Pacman.
He gave everything, but, lost that bout. Pacman won showcasing his speed and power.
If both Boxers can't agree on Catchweight, then, respect their decision, they have all the right to fight another opponent respectively.

I agree bro,I thought Mosley and Clottey beat him tbh,but you know where those fights took place...No way either of umm get the nod there...
yeah, and flomos including Martinez will cry out loud that PAC should fight anyone at 154 lbs...
