Well he needs the gimmicks to sell his fights, last time out it was two main events with Canelo headlining at the other venue as well as Mexican legend Erik Morales on the undercard. I wonder what numbers Floyd would do without the gimmicks, at the gate and the PPV buys.

They are not competing. UFC will be on during boxing undercards and will be finished waaaaaaaaaaaaay before Mayweather makes his entrance in typical late Mayweather style.

why do you think its more likely if condit wins? Diaz is a bigger draw, but hes a guy they can easily afford to put on FOX rather than a ppv. Mir vs. Cain seems like an OK fight, but i don't know. It's not exactly a top-notch headliner if their efforts are to compete with mayweather. (which they shouldn't. They would need a superfight to even come close) They aren't competing with Mayweather, the main event will be finished an hour before Mayweather's fight most likely so people can still watch him fight

Based on pure logic though, it's quite easy to see how the two largest combat sports will have their fair share of common fans. It's not the main event, it's not even the Co-main event. Rumors so far are leaning towards Mir-Cain and the winner of Condit-Diaz defending his interim title. its FOX who decides when they want the ufc fights. UFC just delivers whats asked of them. if they wanted to compete with Mayweather they would put a draw in there, not Nate Diaz who is mostly known among hardcores. Hes like the Maidana of mma.
