Dana has a Mexican in Nate Diaz on the card. He is trying to see if the date has the same magic for UFC that it does for boxing, but I don't even know if most Mexicans give a sh*t about UFC. He is also promoting his brand off of Floyd's name, but what else is new.
Why do Floyd have to chose May 5th. Oh it's Cinco De Mayo...it's that time of the year again :lol1:. Get your ticket ASAP because they come with a free room, a free buffet, and a free limo ride if you're lucky :lol1:.
Well he needs the gimmicks to sell his fights, last time out it was two main events with Canelo headlining at the other venue as well as Mexican legend Erik Morales on the undercard.
I wonder what numbers Floyd would do without the gimmicks, at the gate and the PPV buys.
I don't get it .
Sports fans will watch the boxing and the homoerotica lovers will watch the UFC as usual.
Why is it an issue you don't just become interested in sweaty half naked men hugging overnight. Your born that way.
Both Boxing and MMA are great a lot of fight fans watch both
You're gay because you see it in that way. Maybe you have inner tendencies that want to come out cause you see it in a sexual way while the rest of the world doesn't.

They are not competing. UFC will be on during boxing undercards and will be finished waaaaaaaaaaaaay before Mayweather makes his entrance in typical late Mayweather style.
why do you think its more likely if condit wins? Diaz is a bigger draw, but hes a guy they can easily afford to put on FOX rather than a ppv.
Mir vs. Cain seems like an OK fight, but i don't know. It's not exactly a top-notch headliner if their efforts are to compete with mayweather. (which they shouldn't. They would need a superfight to even come close)
They aren't competing with Mayweather, the main event will be finished an hour before Mayweather's fight most likely so people can still watch him fight
In my opinion Bob Arum is about as trustworthy as a piranha circling my ballsack.
People with an agenda will always spin things their way, because they benefit from it.
Based on pure logic though, it's quite easy to see how the two largest combat sports will have their fair share of common fans.
Its not Bob Arum who conducted the studies to find the crossover it was HBO. Watch the first vid to.

nah the two sports share a large portion of the same fans. But it's not really a competition here. Anyone remotely interested in boxing will pick a Mayweather fight over any card UFC will put up there for free.
Recently, Bob Arum noted that he's not concerned about the November 12 UFC debut on the Fox network opposing his HBO pay-per-view with Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez, and that he felt that "less than 5%" of UFC fans were also boxing fans. That echoes what Mark Taffet, the pay-per-view lead man at HBO Sports, said in March 2010:

2 Completely Different sports with 2 Completely Different fan bases. Its just the media that really likes to build up this rivalry.

It's not the main event, it's not even the Co-main event. Rumors so far are leaning towards Mir-Cain and the winner of Condit-Diaz defending his interim title. It really depends on who wins the fight. If Condit wins it's way more likely.

its FOX who decides when they want the ufc fights. UFC just delivers whats asked of them.
if they wanted to compete with Mayweather they would put a draw in there, not Nate Diaz who is mostly known among hardcores. Hes like the Maidana of mma.

Dana has said this before he doesn't compete with Boxing, especially when Mayweather and Pacquiao fight. The UFC on Fox 3 event will be during the undercard fights by the main event it will have finished Dana says fight fans can watch Boxing and MMA he knows there are a lot of fight fans who support Boxing and MMA
