So Pacquiao said in an interview that he'd take the lesser purse, just so to "make the fight" happen, Floyd calls his bluff then Pacquiao backs out of his word?
Why do people ignore the fact that Pac himself said he would take less than 50%...then he goes on with countless excuses why he can't fight in May. Dude's a joke!
Who give a sh*t, Floyd made plenty of comments and changed his mine.
The fight is 50/50. End of story.
If FLoyd doesnt accept he is a COWARD.
Pacquiao is ducking Floyd.
That's just how it works huh. Says who? Things change, and some things are just given. Again, both Floyd and Manny fight at the MGM on Cinco de Mayo every year. Why is that suddenly not alright?
That's how it works when you're negotiating the biggest fight ever with two rival promoters and the egos involved. I'm not saying anything is not alright, but when you're trying to set up THIS fight, you negotiate everything together - date, venue, purse split etc. One side wont be dictated to by the other. Neither of them want the fight.

Because Arum don't want his puppet dismantled this soon. He figures he can throw a couple more over the hill fighters at him for some easy wins, the pactards will buy it as long as their god gets a W.
Actually, you can pretty much have a sense on how it would looke like if Pac and Floyd negotiate the fight themselves in front of each other. This is just a glimpse of it. Would Floyd exhibit more fairness than Arum on Pac? Apparently not. He's probably worse than Arum.
So now we know that Mayweather demands 70/30. An exciting boxer wants 70.
This is truly embarrassing.

You ever been to an auction kid where the owner starts of at an inflated bid , to try and get a sense of dollar value imagine your entire family's net worth being in either fighters chump change pocket , you talk but have no sense of the mammoth amount of money they are negotiating over .
Its looking good for the fight , this squabbling was always going to happen as it does in every fight , only this fight goes public if anybody farts .
Floyd is being quite I think thats a good sign things are moving .
pac getting ripped off by arum, not okay with flomos.
pac getting ripped off by boring floyd, it's okay with flomos.
How is he getting ripped of by Floyd? Please explain, I want to hear this.
Uh no thats just how it works. Especially when you're negotiating THIS fight. Its ok for Floyd to say to some GBP fighter like Ortiz or Mosley, "hey you're fighting me at the MGM on May 5th". But he knows damn well it wouldn't fly in this situation. So yeah....hes already got some GBP fighter lined up. Arum already has a TR fighter lined up.

Floyd said 50/50 was good. Because, he said he wanted nobody but Pac. Pac called his bluff and now 50/50 is not acceptable?
Why do people ignore the fact that Floyd himself said 50/50 was good?
:dunce:
I've never heard Floyd agree to give anybody 50/50. A source would be great, unless you're just talking out of your ass.:dunno:
Pac doesn't move like a man that WANTS this fight. I've seen what a fighter look like that really wanted a fight. When Bob tried to pull this "maximize my prized asset" game with Floyd by trying to line him up with Top Rank livestock who werent ready (regardless of u revisionist haters who really think Cotto and Margo posed great danger to Floyd then) Floyd did everything in his power to get the fight HE WANTED, which was Oscar. Everything from buying out his contract, taking the short end of the stick on weight, ring size, gloves make, and most importantly prize cut. At this point, I don't think Pac has any intentions on fighting Floyd. He's 10 toes down with Bob's Top Rank shell game. He and Bob both know his next opponent was Tim Bradley back when Bob signed him. They might get around to the Floyd fight, but on their own schedule. Floyd making all this noise now threw a monkey wrench in their game, so Bob had to turn it down without really turning it down. I've been saying it all along....find out when Pac contract ends, and you'll find out when the Floyd fight is. Only way it is earlier than that is if Pac runs for President. Pac vs Floyd is Arum's cash out fight.

Really? How do we "know" this?

Yup. You nailed it.

I thought this has been cover already when PAC said he'll take less there was. no agreement on the date, the post was bumped yesterday and that was in December. U're telling me PAC agreed to fight Floyd on may 5th since December when he made that statement? Since Floyd won't and can't fight any other date than may 5th and if PAC agree then why would PAC still agree to take less after agreeing to go with Floyd's date he chooses also?
You make a good point. And, since May 5th was only 4 months ahead of this alleged statement, there is no way that the fight could have taken place on May 5th. Nobody knew until jan.6th that Mayweather would have a gaol postponemet util June 1st. With a 2-3 month incarceration, he'd only be out a month or 6 weeks befor the fight.
I don't buy that whole date/venue thing. That's Bob Arum telling you how he thinks it should work. Just as it is every year, nothing makes more sense than the MGM Grand on Cinco de Mayo weekend. It's been good enough for both fighters for the past 5 years.

I don't understand how people can view Floyd as a coward for this. As things stood heat was coming down on Pacquiao, if he really did not want to fight him he could have just arranged a fight with his next opponent and said the fight fell through because of the venue/date.
Instead he calls Pacquiao, to essentially cut Arum out.
Negotiation over pursue split is trivial.
Ive been pretty right so far. When everyone was jumping on Arum (rightly so), I had my suspicions about Mayweather's side. You don't book a date/venue before you've even consulted the other side. And now the split.
Both these guys have their next opponent in mind and have for a while, thats my belief.
