This is an old post of yours, but you admit to hero worship Floyd Mayweather jr? In the ring only, I hope. Outside the ring the man is despicable.
Stalk much??
I respect Floys skill, but I've never been a fan of his in or outside the ring.
- - Lewie had trained 3 weeks in the UK before flying to Cali for a 6 week camp, 9 weeks in all.
Vit had been in court suing Lewie 3x, winning all judgements, so with 3 wks before Lewie fight with Kirk Johnson, Tyson on the undercard walked out, so Lewie offered Vit that undercard. A week later Johnson hurt he tltty and had to quit, so Vit bumped up to 12 rd title fight with 2 weeks training.
Vit lost the fight on a freak cut, but won the war when he chased Lewie into premature retirement and lose of his planned 5 more lucrative fights before retire that included his WBC Mandatory, the career purse rematch against Vit...the way it was....
I'm trying to decipher all of this, lol. You're saying Vitali was suing Lennox 3 times and won all of those judgements? What was he suing him for? How's Tyson involved on the undercard? Mike Tyson? Then you're saying Tyson pulled out and was supposed to be facing Kirk Johnson on that undercard. Who was Lennox supposed to be facing in the main event? So Vitali was going to be facing Kirk Johnson then only for him to be injured and now Vitali became main event with Lewis. I think I got that, right? What were the 5 more lucrative fights planned? Against who?
I had some fun memories watching Vitali perform. Sure, the competition wasn't always amazing, but he did what he could with the opposition he had in front of him. I became a fan by his valiant effort against Lennox Lewis. I know some people would say, that was an out of prime, not quite in shape Lewis and that's fine, and that's probably why Vitali was beating him up. If it wasn't for that brutal cut Vitali suffered, he probably would have gone on to win the fight. He was up on all the cards if I recall.
Besides that, I enjoyed his brutal 2nd destruction of Kirk Johnson. Seeing him have a slugfest with what appeared to be an out of shape Corrie Sanders, yet that is just Corrie's appearance. He had a missile straight left hand. He then had a pretty nice slugfest with Danny Williams who had just beat an out of prime Mike Tyson. Beat up the hyped up Samuel Peter...
Yeah, he wasn't incredibly flashy looking and obviously white, but he had an iron chin, took some massive punches and hardly ever been dropped. His style was very aggressive and I honestly can't remember a fight since I began watching him that wasn't entertaining. I know haters are going to hate, but I enjoyed the f**k out of his fights while he was around. His brother, not so much...

See this is the problem with you and other nuthuggers. You want to over rate (or allow him to be over rated) Vitaly and than when he gets taken down a peg you complain "I don't see constant threads" about other fighters. Well I don't see such hero worship for any other fighters besides Pac and Floyd. And I had my battles about them years ago.
By the way, its good to see you back "Lucky Jim". Or should I say Stones?

I can see why Vitali takes more heat because he is current and dominant and a lot of people such as yourself don't like it.
However, as a "history expert," you should perhaps expand your horizons and criticize a few other heavyweights. Lewis got knocked cold by two journeymen: if that happened to Vitali, even if he "avenged" the losses, I can only imagine how much fun you'd be having slagging him. It would be never-ending, I'm sure.
Your problem and your flaw is and will continue to be in your assertion of objectivity and impartiality, because that is so obviously and demonstrably not the case. If you criticized a few other recent heavyweights with the same zeal you do Vitali, your claim of objectivity might have more merit.
Let people overrate and constantly talk about other recent heavyweights and I'll be happy to do these things.
I have to say, I'm becoming convinced that jimmy is nothing more than a massive windup merchant. He also appear to be posting from the 1930s and probably looks like this.

& if you want medical proof go to Germany & look for the MEDIC WHO performed the cuff surgery... his name is DR. ...........!
.......Dr Jimmy who also performed fellatio on his hero.
Klitschko being backed up by the LIGHTEST hitting heavyweight in the past half century is your phocking proof. Getting immediate rotator cuff surgery & being on the shelve for a yr is your proof.
Vitali wasnt on the shelf, he fought again later that same year! His boo-boo miraculously got better when Wlad defeated Byrd. 41 days later Vitali makes his return from injury.
Vitali is one sneaky bastard to pull off that charade.
I would add a prime Tyson, and Lewis as well. Larry Holmes would have held his own too and I'd bet on him in if we could magically make that fight happen. That said, Vitali was a bad ass fighter and would have given any fighter a hell of a fight.
LL ducked both Ruiz and Byrd because he was afraid a L against them would severely damage his legacy. LL vs. Vitali is 50/50.
Vitali likely beats any version of Tyson IMO. He would resist Tyson's attacks for the first rounds, after that Tyson becomes frustrated (his mind is weak) and surrenders to Vitali.
Such close rounds. Byrd fought an excellent fight considering he gave up a half a foot in height, 35lbs in weight and had no power to speak of. Anybody who thinks Vitaly would have beaten Ali just needs to watch this fight. Byrd is was smaller, slower and softer punching fighter than Ali was.

I remember that fight, only time I seen Byrd chasing an opponent and cutting off the ring. The later rounds Vitali was acting like it was Tyson chasing him.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:
The irony on display in that fight is staggering.
Byrd showed no respect whatsoever for Vitali's power. Byrd spent one half of the fight standing directly infront of Vitali, slipping and countering at will, and the other half of the fight stalking him around the ring, putting on his best George Foreman impression, while Vitali was on his motorcycle.
Probably why Lennox Lewis avoided Byrd (and other defensive fighters e.g. Ruiz) like the plague.
Do you think Byrd would beat Lennox? Lennox is not a punch waster like Vitali. He is far more accurate and powerful when he connects. More Similar to Wlads style who defeated Byrd.
Also, when was this fight supposed to happen?
1999 Byrd was brutally KOd by Ike and fell from the top 5
2000 Byrd was contractually obligated to only face Klitschko
2001 Byrd was coming off a loss, and his rank fell again.
2002 Lennox occupied with Gazillion dollar fight with Tyson.
Late 2002- Lennox is basically retired at this point and doesnt fight anybody for an entire year. The only reason he got out of bed in mid-2003 is because his final belt was in danger of being stripped.
The fact that LL crawled out of bed and whooped Vits ass in 6 rounds is all he needs to show superiority over Byrd. He also blasted out Golota in 1 round. Byrd struggled Golota to a draw.

Most of this is fair journalism except for the part about ANYONE presuming for a second Byrd wins the fight on the defensive end. You CAN'T win a fight when you play excellent D but at the expense of your O.. jUST not feasable. Byrd has a W on his record he didn't earn & so does Lewis.. let's NOT make up stuff as if they actually deserved to get the nod.. BE HAPPY with the 2 MOST ASTERISKED W'S in heavyweight championship history & keep it movin'.
As I've always maintained, V was winning. But you can win a fight with defense, especially when you only land 8 less punches the entire fight. It seems many want to penalize Byrd for not being a harder puncher. It just doesn't work that way in boxing. Bottom line is it was a competitive fight and V should have pursued a rematch instead of letting his brother fight him.
A loss based on an injury incurred while handily winning a fight can't honestly be called "definitive." No matter who the fighter in question is.
Period.
Than why not rematch?
Byrd make him quit. Vitali was frustrated because he could not land clean.
Look at Wlad vs Byrd II. Wlad dominates Byrd and he knocks him out. Wlad is much better than his brother and with Emanuel Steward Wlad becomes a superior boxer.

awwwwwwwwwwww he had a boo boo :bottle:
Haye had a boo boo in his last fight as well.
Do we give a shit? NO!
Should we give a shit? NO!
The same applies to Vitali. I can give the barest minimum of fuck about his little boo boo. He lost to Byrd because he was the inferior boxer, and the inferior warrior, just like Haye lost to Wlad because he was the inferior boxer and the inferior warrior.
There are just too many countless dozens, if not hundreds examples throughout boxing history, as well as in contemporary times, of fighters gutting it out through equally severe injuries and even worse, against bigger, stronger and more dangerous opponents (than Byrd) and end up walking away with a W or at least with their dignity and honor intact by showing heart and going the distance... for me to give a flying fuck about this glass hearted clown's alleged boo boo.
