Does anyone know if Pacquiao can fight outside of Top Rank or whats the deal?
Anyone think maybe Floyd rang Pacquiao to confirm he will do 50-50 cause they are lining up an offer to fight him through Golden Boy and leave Arum out fullstop?
Pay him 40m to step aside, didn't Golden Boy get like 15% cut of Manny made though?
I don't follow any of this Mayweather-Pacquiao shit anymore cause I'm sick of hearing about it. I'm not exactly upto speed on what the current contracts are like...
NO, Arum could have originally successfully sued Oscar for meddling with his fighter whilst under contract. To avoid a lengthy and expensive court battle, Arum and MannyP arrange to give Oscar-as described in the press- a tiny fraction" of mannyP's purses not including PPV. This was mentioned to be around 3%.
When Arum and MannyP sued the Mayweathers and Golden Balls, as well as Oscar personally, after a while Oscar broke down from the strain, hiding himself in a Betty Ford style clinic for prolonged alcohol and drug abuse. He cried out to Arum to forgive him and he aplogised profusely to both Aru and MannyP. They forgave him, and he suddenly recovered.
The press reports stated that they had come to an agreement for the famous "undisclosed amount of damages", and Oscar was off the hook. You can bet it cost him plenty, and he was happy to pay it. You can also be certain that the very first thing that MannyP got back was that 3%. So I'd be virtually certain, knowing how clever Arum is, that he wouldn't overlook this. And now MannyP pays Golden Balls zero.........
Pacquiao's On Lockdown
If it is true that Bob is getting around 27 percent of Pac's purses, it is very doubtful that he would be able to due the fight without Bob Arum. It is becoming clear that Bob is blocking the fight. Any other promoter would have sealed the deal and made the fight happen by now. Forget about Pacquiao buying out his contract. It would cost too much to buy out the contract. It is becoming more clear who is ducking the fight and it is not the fighters. It is one fighter's promoter. Mr. Arum, what are you afraid of? Mayweather is the biggest money fight out there for Pacquiao. If you are going to risk him being beaten, you might as well get the most amount of money possible.
be interesting to know how much arum could sue pacquiao for if he broke their contract. and how much extra he would make by representing himself in what would be a guaranteed jackpot of a paypacket. dunno if the two factors would balance out favourably or not.
could pacquiao not sue arum or at least break the contract because arum is mismanaging him? by that i mean keeping him from such a lucrative payday. i wonder if that could be argued. it seems in the states you can sue for basically anything that slightly gets on your nerves so i can't see it being too much of an issue...
Arum would obviously not allow that, he'd sue pacquiao and everyone involved if necessary, which would be a long drawn out process meaning no May 5th.
He doesn't have to sue, like Don King (Mayorga), he'll apply for court injunction blocking the fight from happening
golden boy will never do that again; they learned the lesson with nonito donaire i'm sure.
arum has it all covered legally.
unfortunately this fight will happen with arum's involvement or it won't happen at all.
I hear they're having issues with Canelo's old promoter as well

Tell me who, where they'd get it, and why someone would pay someone $40 Mill "step aside" Money???
Six figures is one thing...but $40 Mill???? LOL

Manny has a contract with Top Rank. Golden Boy could try to buy Bob out... good luck. and if Manny went behind his back, he/goldenboy/mayweather/maybe even HBO would all be in a lawsuit with Uncle Bob
