I feel like I'm missing something that the Pacquiao fanatics are seeing. I just don't see it.
I wish I lived in a world with Arum-economics then maybe I'd get an extra 20,000 a year for staying at work an hour extra a day!
It seems like only Pacquiao fans that won't even be going to the fight want this stadium for some reason...Floyd wants it May 5th at MGM...Manny says he was willing to take less than 50%! Oscar doesn't care about the stadium...Al Haymon doesn't either or else Floyd wouldn't be dismissing it!
Who is it that needs this extra money so bad?
Both Floyd and Arum idea are bad here what they should do
1. Sun Life Stadium 75,192 seats
2. University of Phoenix Stadium 72,219 seats
3. Reliant Stadium 72,744 seats
somebody did a thread about this already...
arum says it'd earn about 30 to 40 million extra..
unless you have some kind of rough computation proving it's not possible, i say it is...maybe not practical, but it is possible...
..
Oh wow :lol1::lol1:
They only way that he can make 40 million more than the MGM is by having a see thru ring.
He could have 20 lawn chairs with the cushions underneath the ring and charge everybody 2 million dollars per seat.
lol damn thats cray

Let me see, we're then talking about 60 million right?
so it's 60 million divided by let's imagine 40,000
=60 million/40,000 = $1500 dollars per seat.
People have done the math already and the returns Arum is expecting are wholly unrealistic. Especially when you can actually get away with charging thousands of dollars for the worst seat in the MGM Grand in order to make up the difference.
He is just lying plain and simple, MGM holds about 20,000 people or so. The problem is there is a stadium already in Las Vegas, which holds about 30-35 thousand, called Sam Boyd its not on the strip so that sucks, but seriously the fight of the "CENTURY" is going to be held in the GRAND GARDEN ARENA... no wait, it will be in the Temporary Las Vegas Arena. He doesn't want to Floyd to fight Manny, period.
I don't see it either, considering erecting the stadium, temporary or not will run around that desired price.
Arum has already spoken with the builder. I'ts pre-fab of course and will cost $5 millions.

Bob will have a very high price set on those extra seats. The problem is, IF Bob was this serious about making a damn stadium he would have requested for it back in 2009, 2010, or 2011 when they sang the "we agree to everything".. basally he would have been working on building it and not waiting to demand this when Mayweather has a deadline.
Bob is just making excuses like he has been doing since day one. He doesn't want Pac in the ring with Mayweather just like he didn't want Mayweather in the ring with De La Hoya or Maywether in the ring with Cotto when BOTH where under Top Rank and undefeated at JWW.. Bob protects his fighters and does not want his cash cow to be schooled. Especially by Mayweather.

Then break it down. Step by step. Let us hear your opinion on how it would work....
For ticket sales to make $60 million they would have to cost $1,300. I don't know of anyone who would pay $1,300 for nose bleeds. Like others have pointed out this does not take into consideration the cost of building the stadium.
Awesome thread and here's whats even more inconceivable about this "stadium".
Since these "discussions" have been going on the last couple of years, when has this "road block" EVER been cited?? Arum is so full of schit!!
But as someone said, just the construction alone would eat the cost. I recall back in the 80's when fights were held at Caesar's Palace that they would construct makeshift bleechers in the parking lot for the fight. But not an "entire stadium".
Also Raphael from ESPN mentioned that UNLV's football stadium & Las Vegas Motor Speedway ALREADY exist. NO NEED for mythical construction since he's so concerned that us "lowly" folks would get to see the fight at an affordable cost, lol.
Will we get another, "today he's telling the truth and yesterday he's lying" regarding this??
It's so ridiculous.
Those clowns still talking about 40 million EXTRA on top of the 20 mill gate.
How can anyone even fathom this as being remotely possible. Stupid stuff.
