Cotto vs Canelo in the works?

******.com has learned that a junior middleweight unification bout between WBA junior middleweight beltholder Miguel Cotto and WBC counter part Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is being negotiated. Alvarez, of Mexico, has been considered as a potential rival for WBC welterweight beltholder Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Cotto, of Puerto Ricio, one for WBO welterweight titleholder Manny Pacquiao. I really do hope this fight happens. I would love for this fight to happen. I doubt it will. But, it would be awesome and actually good for the sport and the division if it did.

A serious question. Why is it that you always get so upset about Cotto? I know some guys like Ani,PRBOXI.. can be stupid crazy about him but you seem to always have something negative about him. Most of his posts are in threads about Cotto and I'm not sure he even realizes it. Kinda sad, really. The hate and butthurt is strong in him. :boxing:

Cotto Stans' view of Canelo before Cotto: He never fought no one. Dude is overrated. He is overhyped. If Cotto fights him: Canelo is ranked #2 and he got there for a reason. Canelo is a good boxer. Canelo would beat everyone not named Cotto. I'M CALLING IT!! A serious question. Why is it that you always get so upset about Cotto? This is the fight that needs to happen. This, Khan v Peterson II, Bradley vs Marquez and Mayweather vs Pacquiao need to be made. Each guy should not be fighting anyone else right now. I wish Bradley, Cotto and Marquez were independent so Team Pac/Arum would have no other choice but to just make the fight with Mayweather. If they are able to get past this time period until Floyd goes to jail then they will be able to start using the excuse that their schedule doesn't match up with Floyds.

I could see why cotto wouldn't fight pac for a couple reasons, but I don't see how canelo would pass on floyd Really makes you wonder who Floyd's opponent could be. If not Pacquiao, Canelo, Cotto, Guerrero, or Martinez, than who?

Make this in NYC...I could use another excuse to hit it up and see Cotto...plus it'll be AFTER finals which would be awesome Cotto/Margarito II was maybe the best sporting event I've ever been to except a Bulls/Sixers game when Jordan was still there and a few Eagles game that were ridiculous Plus it'll lessen the chances of a favorable ref stopping a fight just because the Ginger lands a two piece.
