There are only so many people who can have ringside seats. For the Mayweather De La Hoya fight the tickets closest to the ring were $2000, $1,500, and $1000. Mid point seats were $750 and seats furthers away from the action were $350 and $150.
If 30,000 extra people were going to fit in the arena the vast majority would be furthest away from the action ($350 to $150 range). Is Arum aware that in order to get an extra 40 million dollars at the gate those tickets that would normally be $350 to $150 would have to be in the $1,300 range?
If those extra 30,000 seats were $350 it would only be 10.5 million. I am not an expert on how this all operates so can somebody with more insight on how prices are set for seats explain to me where Arum is getting his math?
lol ...40,000 extar seats x 1600 = 64 million..
now, arums number is only 40 extra million....so you dont need to sell the nosebleed seats for 1600 each.....
Wrong again... It's 25,000 extra seats at 1600 a piece that comes out to 40 million. I'm about to get off of work so I can stop schooling you and do something more fun like watch grass grow.
The $1,600 is the average price of the nose bleeds.

hell fuking no, he cant!...but i thoiught you were a berkeley student and that the 1600 price is the average for each ticket, meaning ,if you have common sense, the nosebleed seats are lower than 1600 and the ring side seats are higher than 1600.....you computed the average did'nt you?....
The $1,600 is the average price of the nose bleeds.
lmao. thats why i didnt even try. for all of u who dont know, puga is trolling u. hes absolutely not that dumb. ive been here for about 2 yrs, he enjoys this. dont waste your time.
cmon demp...you know that is not true that im trolling...yes, i troll once in a while but not all the time....but yes, you are right, i enjoys this....:D
so stadium is going to build by itself? that itself would cost 10 mil. $ and up. like some posters said before arum is probably trying to outsource the whole gate/venue thing to an investor who in turn would guarantee extra 20 mil. for each boxer regardless of the gate.
If they hold the fight at the MGM, those extra seats at the other arena that would have been bought would just be bought on PPV, so either way they'll make there money. So lets throw that excuss out the door.
I believe in my own calculation but I believe that Arum will never be able to sell nose bleeds for $1600. Do you think he can?

We have done so several times. Out of the additional 25000 tickets, to make 40 million on top of the 20 thats already being generated by seats compared to MGM, the average ticket needs to cost $1600.
What you don't seem to understand is that to make the stadium hold another 25000 compared to MGM you need to build seats further away. Otherwise it will be just the same as MGM and net the exact same amount.
So we take the MGM-capacity and it's money generated and put that aside. Lets call this the MGM pile.
Now the extra 25000 seats built will be of worse quality than those that generated the money in the "MGM pile". So therefore these 25000 will be the cheapest.
We already know that the MGM pile contains roughly $20,000,000 , and we need $40,000,000 from the 25000 bad seats we built. We therefore need to sell them for $1600 a pop.
Does that sound reasonable to sell those extra tickets for $1600 a piece despite being worse than the ones closer to the ring that cost $150~ ?
So in short, the extra 25000 seats have NOTHING to do with the other seats. You don't have to calculate their average or their gross. You only need to calculate how much money you need to sell the new bad tickets for in order to make 40,000,000. And that is $1600 per ticket on average for the NEW SEATS only.
I just wrote about 99% more than i should have to. I don't understand how anyone can be as clueless as you.
dude, seriously man.....what i have been asking you, you failed to do...the 1600 amount is the price for eac ticket (that's the other guys' computation not mine) meaning the nosebeeeld seats are way lower than the ringside seats ...
all i have been asking you is you to do is provide a computation that proves arums number is not possible ,yet, we're at page 20 already (i think ) and you havent done sh1t....i dont need to hear the obvious man, i want your computations on why it is not possible....
I'm not wasting my time, I am at work. He actually made my shift go by a little faster.
lol, i agree that does work. done it a few times myself. well then carry on, lmao.

but they are handicapped by logic and you don't give a shit

It's not even worth putting mind to. Doing mathematics and analyzing the confusion he spews, means that you may not know that this guy is making excuses. I'm not paying any mind to what Bob Arum is saying because I know it's all lies. If he wanted the fight to happen, he wouldn't be highlighting why it can't happen, it would be about why it can happen. It's like what he said about Marquez. He flew in with his lawyer team and they made it happen. If they really wanted that fight, that's what would've happened.
oh god, you dont even believe your own computation now?...lol
I believe in my own calculation but I believe that Arum will never be able to sell nose bleeds for $1600. Do you think he can?
beucase we dont know the prices of each tickets.....that's why..
my turn, why cant you provide a rough estimate proving arum's numbers aint possible?....dont just say it is not possible, you have to back it up.....

Either way he is getting me through my shift. I have two more hours to kill. I think I can teach a 3rd grader how to get averages in two hours
dude, you dont even believe in your computation much else teach somebody...lol
puga, why do you need the average price of all tickets when deciding how much to make out of additional cheap tickets?
do you not agree that the extra seats made from a stadium compared to mgm will be cheap seats? if you don't agree with that, explain why. Are you going to make the ringside area bigger? How?
beucase we dont know the prices of each tickets.....that's why..

is it possible hes not trolling us?
I guess if basic = 3rd grade, it's possible hes actually this clueless. (8th grade seemingly of higher education)
Either way he is getting me through my shift. I have two more hours to kill. I think I can teach a 3rd grader how to get averages in two hours
No fool. My equation shows how Arum cannot possibly make an additional $40mill with 25k extra seats because the average price of those additional tickets would be $1600. He would never sell those seats for that price cause nobody would buy them....
I think we are making progress.
oh god, you dont even believe your own computation now?...lol
