What weight class should Cotto be fighting at?

I think he should be fighting at 147. Height and reach wise, he's very small for 154, and I think he may have lost some power moving up in weight.

But him being at 154lb put's him at a great disadvantage imo,he really does not belong there..Do you know how much bigger Kirkland and Angulo would be compared to him?? I mean he's a champion 154 he seems to fight good at that weight and yes those guys are bigger I do think those are fights that he can win he's a smart boxer the only way I see him going down in weight is a fight with Mayweather at 147 but even Money fought ODLH at 154.

I like Cotto at 154 because of the fights at 154 like Canelo,Kirkland,Angulo, I don't want to see him in there with Berto,Bradley maybe Ortiz if he beats Berto but I would pay PPV money to see him in there with the guys at 154 not 147 right now Cotto trying to get paid lots of cash and the money is at 154. Because he's fought Foreman Margo and Mayorga. Fighting guys like Canelo, Kirkland, Angulo, Lara could be a different story, Ortiz, Berto or Bradley are better options IMO. I think the CW for the Margo fight is very telling. Also the big size difference between Cotto and Mayorga and Margo. Both guys who are former WW's themselves. Miguel Cotto should be fighting at 147 point blank. This talk about fighting Canelo is ridiculous to me. Canelo will be a MW soon at this pace. Cotto needs to fight the winner of Berto-Ortiz or Bradley. FYI Ortiz weighed 1 or 2 pounds more then Cotto when he fought Floyd. He went to 154 to get another belt in another weight class. His fights w yuri and margs doesn't mean he's better there. I believe he's best fit at 147

I like him fighting at 154 I don't care if he looks smaller then the guys that he fighting all that means is that he's faster then they are. Pac fought guys that were bigger than him all the time and I feel like Cotto is doing the same at 154 I mean the guy is undefeated at that weight and now he's got that new trainer he will only get better I felt like he would run out of gas in fights at 147 back then maybe he was struggling to make weight I think he feels good making weight at 154 now because of his age.

where he should be fighting at considering his height? 140. but he really should try to make 147 if he can. he's too small at 154.

Canelo should go back to ww to.Hes not that big. Canelo looks like a decent size JMW. He made Gomez look small when Gomez looked bigger then Cotto.

last time he was asked he said he had no problems making 147, If I remember correctly he also said he will go where the big fights are even if that means going up to 160. I think he is at his best at 147, but has an advantage if he can make pacman fight him at 154.

he looks better at 147 for sure, but i think he's okay at 154. i would like to see him face the berto/ortiz II winner as well, but facing someone like alvarez is good for him too. he's a bigger name and brings more $$$ to the table when negotiating and even though he's a big 154 lber, he's inexperienced. even then, i think cotto can hold his own against guys at the top of the 154 division. the winner of berto/ortiz II can also try moving up for one fight if they become serious potential opponents for cotto though, it's a possibility.

I think Cotto and Shane are both in weight class limbo. 154 is a little too big and they both probably struggle to get to 147. If there was like a 151 weight class it'd be perfect for them. Agree with this!!! 150 would be perfect!

Canelo should go back to ww to.Hes not that big. canelo is too big for ww. he cant even make the weight anymore. and if he hopes to be great its not gonna be at welter or jr middle. its gonna be at middleweight so he needs to start preparing for that as well.
