Are you kidding? If Floyd was putting on boxing clinics against his opponents and didn't speak english he would still sell because people would want to see him box. They don't pay to see him have a conversation. Anderson Silva of the UFC doesn't speak a lick of english but he does 700,000 buys and sells out in vegas because of his talent in which people want to see him display.
700K is not 2.4mil, is not 1.4mil, is not an averaging over a mill.
And, if Floyd couldn't speak English from Ecuador then there would be no ESPN coverage, no skip Bayless nonsense on first take, no argument with Brian Kenny, no PTI conversations, no argument with Larry Marchant, No retarded ass interviews on radio stations, no ESPN commercial, no dancing with the stars, no WWE showcases, no cover of XXL, more importantly probably no 24/7, no fight hype videos, it would be very little controversy image.
It's not just skill, there are plenty of fighters with skills who can box other fighters ear off in a consistent basis. Who can't draw PPV numbers. It takes more than skills to be a PPV star.
If Pac wasn't Filipino and was Puerto Rican instead you would be on your knees with your mouth open taking every drop of his.

Anderson Silva has a "action" "fan pleasing" style.
Floyd doesn't. If floyd didn't say something controversial or insult his opponents heavily before the fight than he would do worse numbers than Cotto.
If Floyd Jr was from Ecuador who couldn't speak English which doesn't have a rich boxing tradition. Yes his PPV numbers would be lower. Are you that stupid that you disagree?
The American media would give the two ****s about him like they do now. You think his court shit would be all over TMZ if it was in Ecuador or Honduras or wherever?

Good for Pacquiao and good for boxing.......well, the latter is kinda.....eh. I wish Pac and Top Rank would at least give us some fights on regular HBO.
If Mayweather was from another race his numbers would be lower?

Again, no **** stupid.
If Cotto was from Australia his PPV numbers would be lower,
If Mayweather was from Ecuador his PPV numbers would be lower,
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
If every single fighter was a different race/Nationality(Filipino is a Nationality not a race BTW) their fan base would be totally different. So WTF is your point?
If Mayweather was from another race his numbers would be lower?
The point is if Manny was another race other then filipino those numbers would be lower. I know filipino's who are not boxing fans who just buy it for the hell of it just because Manny is filipino. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out my point.

Well no shit stupid....90% of every fighters PPV is because of their fan base.
Who you think bout Cotto-Mayorga? 90% of Cotto fan base, who you think bought Cotto-Margarito? 90% of Cotto fan base and 90% of Margarito fan base. Who do you think bought Pac-JMM? 90% of the Filipinos and 90% of the Mexicans.

UFC is ppv here in Australia and also In new Zealand.
I was actually just going to put that. Anyone watch it down there I remember talking to my cousins one lives in Melbourne and the other in Sydney there both about 24/25 and they did not know what UFC was I was pretty shocked.
Actually no. UFC has no PPV business outside of the US. They get a cut from Subscription channels. Don't forget that the UFC is also $15-$25 cheaper than Boxing and WWE(Wrestlemania).
680k is the domestic number for Wrestlemania, if you want to add international than it's around 1.1-1.3million.

MANILA, Philippines– Manny Pacquiao’s back-to-back box-office hits against Shane Mosley and Juan Manuel Marquez last year have cemented the Filipino ring icon’s reputation as pay-per-view (PPV) king of his generation.
In besting Marquez by majority decision in their third duel last November, the eight-division world champion chalked up his best PPV buys ever of 1,410,000, according to a report by Dave Meltzer of Yahoo! Sports.
It surpassed the 1.3 million PPV buys (1.1 million, according to Yahoo) Pacquiao posted when he dominated Shane Mosley last May and was far better than the 1.25 million PPV hits Floyd Mayweather Jr. registered when he stopped Victor Ortiz in controversial fashion last Sept 19.
The 33-year-old Pacquiao thus joined Mike Tyson as the only boxers to have at least two certified hits in a year. At the apex of his popularity in 1996, Tyson breached the PPV million mark thrice against Evander Holyfield, Bruce Seldon and Frank Bruno, respectively.
With five fights generating at least a million PPV buys in the last four years, Pacquiao is in prime position to shatter Tyson’s record of six fights with over a million buys in his career.
Pacquiao wants to return to the ring either in May or June, and if Mayweather—who will start serving his three-month prison term on Friday (Saturday in Manila)—agrees to a megabuck bout in November, Tyson’s mark will be shattered.
Pacquiao’s stock rose when he stopped Oscar De La Hoya in the eighth round in 2008. It notched 1.25 million PPV sales, a figure matched by his 12th-round stoppage of Miguel Cotto in 2009.
Pacquiao’s systematic 12-round destruction of Antonio Margarito in 2010 garnered 1.15 million PPV buys.
Debunking the myth that Mayweather is boxing’s top draw, Pacquiao also humbled the unbeaten American in live attendance.
Pacquiao-Marquez III was seen by a sellout crowd of 16,389 and generated $11.65 million in gate receipts, while Mayweather’s decision win over Marquez attracted 13,116 fans and sold $6,811,300.
Promoter Bob Arum is arriving in Manila on Tuesday to confer with Pacquiao on the Sarangani representative’s next opponent.

U didnt say North America buddy.
It’s estimated that UFC, which didn’t publicly release figures, did nearly 8 million buys in the United States and Canada on 13 pay-per-view events this past year.
That aint America
