BOXER Amir Khan is being protected by armed guards in Pakistan over fears he may be a target for kidnap gangs.
Amir, 25, flew out on Christmas Day to watch brother Haroon in a boxing tournament and to visit friends and family.
Pakistani officials have given him round-the-clock protection — police armed with AK-47s.
Khan, of Bolton, tweeted: "In car going out. Security look crazy. Got mobbed so bad outside hotel couldn't move but they were very nice."
A source said: "It is a very dangerous place."

Don't worry Amir, if someone were to kidnap you, just appeal to your embassy for your release and tell them you were never warned about kidnapping, while the kidnappers were warned numerous times about their actions without punishment. I'm sure it will work out.
