Agreed! If a prime (85-89) Tyson were fighting today he'd likely be the unified undisputed champion. He was explosive!!!
he only looked explosive because he was fighting bums who had no defence, just look what happened when he finally stepped up in comp and fought lewis he looked like ****.
He would knock all of them out with ease
Vitali is way too slow for him, people forget what a monster tyson was in his prime. He would brutalise every heavyweight

A prime Tyson right now would be the man at heavyweight.
This older version of Vitali would get stopped late and Wladimir wouldn't last 4 rounds.
In Wladimir's case, Tyson is a really bad matchup for him where in Vitali's case, it's that he's older with less power, speed, etc.
A prime Vitali woud be very very tough for Tyson though.
Question: "How would Mike Tyson between 85-89 be ranked in the current HW Division?"
Answers: "Well Tyson lost to Danny Williams so how could he beat Klitschko?"
"Tyson couldn't handle Lennox Lewis well so he'd probably lose to Klitschko"
"Tyson struggled with McBride so chances are he'd lose to Klitscko"
Try reading, you're almost 20 years out.
The way some of these guys oversimplify things, with today's Heavyweight division, one could throw it right back at them with simplistic comebacks. I.E. How does a 5'10 guy knock out giant Heavyweights, they must've really sucked. If Lamon Brewster was around, he would've took Tyson's best punches (for visuals think of Tua Vs Tua vs Ibeabuchi), and knocked him out, beating the bully out of Iron Mike). POW!!!!!!:killyou:
Body punching? The discussion was, how would a prime Tyson do in this HW div.
How would he fight the Klitschkos? slip the jab(something that tyson was great at in his prime), get inside of the Klitschkos reach(don't tell me does guys have good inside game except for putting their weight on the opponent),
Use his brutal body punching and rip their body continuesly, put massive pressure on them.
If his gas tank holds then a prime Tyson could have a great chance against Vitali, Wlad he KO's.
Tyson just has to land one of his brutal left hooks or an uppercut and Wlad is going to sleep.
BTw are you honestly so stupid that you think Lamon Brewster beats Tyson? Honestly?
You sound like Masterful or some other massive Klitrider.
Lamont is a bum in comparison to prime Tyson.
who is he? a guy who got a lucky punch on Wlad.
The fact that Wlad has been KO'd a couple of times, and haven't met anyone with the speed and power of a prime Tyson and someone with the defense that prime Tyson had.
All combined in one fighter who also knew how to neutralize the jab.(in his prime)
It would be clear that he wouldn't have an equal. Vitali might be the only one with a chance of making a real fight but even then his lack of lateral mobility would make it hard for him to last the 12 rounds.
Are you guys serious? Vitali wouldn't even be talked about. Iron Mike Tyson would be the undispruted undefeated unified world heavy weight champion! The heavy weight division is at an all time low. Vatali was forced to quit on the stool agfainst feather fisted Chris Bird. Any fighter that quit on the stool and is not in a life threating situation should have thier boxing liecense suspended for ever. A prime Iron mike tyson was to deadly for any Heavyweight in the history of Heavyweight boxing.
Where he would rank isn't really up for discussion. Every sensible boxing fan already knows the answer to that.
What we should be discussing is what round would each of the current top ten contenders and title holders get KO'd in.
Wlad: Tyson via TKO7
Vitali: Tyson via KO2
Povetkin: Tyson via TKO3
Adamek: Tyson via KO1
Chambers: Tyson via KO6
Dimintrenko: Tyson via KO1
Helenius: Tyson via TKO2
Boytsov: Tyson via KO1
Chageav: Tyson via KO1
Arreola: Tyson via KO1
Pulev: Tyson via KO1
yawn ... how does a thread about Tyson turn into yet another vitali nuthugging parade? I swear their has never been a fighter in history with so many homosexual fans. If Vitali ever wants to look at an alternative career he should definately consider ****o, the cock fanciers here would see him financially secure for ever more.
Now back to Tyson ... well this is an easy one - Tyson clears out the medicore division and unifys the belts in short order.
wow you don't sound bitter/jealous at all :lol1:
Prime Mike Tyson, circa mid - late 80's would take on the current 40 yr old Vitali and Wladimir with ease. Prime Mike vs Prime Vitali would have been a fight and then some, i would go with Vitali to win based on what I know now.
I think Prime Mike gets the better of Wladimir because of his style, but the Mike after his loss to Douglas wouldn't have been worth much against the Klitschko brothers today, one of them would have got him eventually
