Even Tua respected the decision because Ike stood toe to toe with him for 12rds. When you're a puncher like Tua and your game is to fight closeup, you will give your opponent respect also if he fights your fights and you can't get him out of there in 12rds.
Ike is the last Black HW that I've seen with the potential skill that if a Holyfield or Tyson.
Too bad it'll never happen and will remain as a fantasy fight for the forseeable future, unless one of the two either falls off and takes a bad loss (again in Kirkland's case) or starts to look less threatening in some way.
golden boy seems to take more risks with their guys so i could see them giving the fans a fight.
personally, as a mosley fan, i wanna see shane take one last stab at it.
so the winner of that fight take on kirkland.
any combination of kirland-mosley-alvarez is a good night of boxing though
if kirkland and alvarez comes to fruition thats certainly a dangerous fight for both guys.
both are vurnerable and both have nice punching power. they're both good combination punchers too.
not sure about either guy on the inside against another inside fighter. i would maybe favor alvarez in close because he's been workin on that philly shell style a little more. he seems to be the better body puncher too
2012 should be a good one

And also, 2 dangerous, undefeated prospects fighting eachother is something we'll never see in boxing again.
 why not?

Prime versions of both of these guys would straight up MAUL ANY & EVERYBODY ranked as a current top 10 Heavyweight.
It almost brings a tear to my eye to see what Heavyweight boxing has DEvolved into while watching this fight.
theres some ali and lamotta coming up after. channel 614 for people with directv. everyone should be watching these if not for good fights, but to give boxing ratings.
america really needs a 24/7 boxing channel
this fight never gets old. it really shows the difference between the fights (not the fighters) then and now. to me, this is inside fighting and this is how you do it. what better way than the heavies 2 power punching heaving digging on the inside?
THIS IS BOXING!
Hell Yeah!... :wank:
Thanks for the heads up!
There needs to be some sort of ESPN classic thread STICKIED or at least constantly bumped and updated (like the Friday Night Fights thread) when classic fights are aired on ESPN classic.
i think this is relevant fight for the times (khan vs peterson). theres a lot of inside fighting and some pushing thats not against the rules. both guys get in close but nobody is staight up shoving the opponent.
awesome fight regardless. get into it!
