POLL: Victor Conte - Is he reformed or not?

Simple question on Victor Conte the man who specialised in creating designer PEDs and beating drug tests and who was sent to jail for it. Is he still that guy? Or do u believe he is on the up and up and wants to help clean up the sport and help fighters get the best out of themselve the LEGAL way? He has worked with Andre Ward, works with Andre Berto and Nonito Donaire and obviously knows his stuff. He is also the guy who headed BALCO and gave Shane Mosley EPO. I tend to believe him but that thin little moustache makes him look evil and hard to trust! :firedevil I think the sport is riddled with PEDs more than we know and has been for many many years, Tommy Morrison said back in the day ALL the HW's were juicing for example. If Conte was caught giving PEDs to the fighters he works with i would be surprised only because i dont think he'd be foolish enough to get CAUGHT again but i do actually think the guy is legit when he says he is helping clean athletes only now. Im just curious to see what the general feel here on boxing scene is on the guy, vote in the poll please :boxing:

He said in the article i read that he is only intrestyed in working with top 10 guys and since he is working with Berto he wouldnt take on any other WW clients as it would be a conflict of interest, he went on to say that a big name WW (a top 10 guy too) had approached him but he had to turn him down, wonder who that was? Any ideas?

While I'm not entirely positive (no pun intended), I do not believe Conte is "reformed" in any stretch of the word. I'm a firm believer that past behavior dictates future results.

There was a big article on him in Boxing News the other day and he came across really well and u could almost understand why he got into the doping... like i said i buy his line for now but this is a dirty buisness full of dirty cats and he has already proven to be one so if he did get caught being dodgy it would only surprise me in the manner that i thought he'd be to smart to get tripped up again. Money is probably a factor. If he is getting good checks for being legit, the temptation is not really there. Its when things arnt going well that people resort back to their past shady activities. At the same time, i dont know if i even want to see him involved in the sport at all.

From all that I've seen of Conte on TV both before and after the Balco scandal I'd bet my left nut he's still as involved as ever. The man didn't seem the least bit repentant and actually seemed to laugh at the naivete of much of the sporting public regarding the extent of doping.

Usually im skepticalhippo, but for some reason i can believe him. with that said, i wouldnt be surprised about illegal activities. maybe he just sees it as a challenge to prove his worth outside of cheating. Or maybe he is just really dumb and wants to go back to prison.
