which fights would he have the most problems? think he would have definitely lost to Dirrell and a Taylor fight would have been interesting fight early in the tournament. Ward UD's Pascal and a Kessler fight might have been different in Denmark but I think Ward would still wins
Yeah and if he thinks Pavlik is a rough fighter he couldn't see Ward at any time at 168.
it's not about being rough dumbass, those guys throw alot of punches, alot of heavy punches, and both ate ALOT of leather to get where they got
ward would get knocked the fukk out vs the taylor that fought froch, simple, no way around it, you'd have to be delusional to think otherwise, people are too into the times and forget how these past guys used to fight, same sht that happens all the time around here
no way in hell ward would win vs taylor
just like Hopkins boxed his ears off because Taylor is that one dimensional right
Hopkins wasn't nearly as active as he should have been in those fights. Taylor's use and explosiveness helped him, however. But Taylor literally just fought. I can't remember him ever slipping a punch. I think Ward would have outboxed Taylor, with relative ease. Taylor could punch, sure, but he ate way too much leather. If he had a better defense, he would have beat Pavlik and Froch as well, IMO. And I thought that his fight with Winky was close, but I remember scoring it for Winky. I actually saw Winky in Vegas not long after that fight and telling him he won.
he supposed to beat up on Froch Ward is 3-1 favorite
Yes, I know. But when they whine after Ward beats Froch, it will be all the more funny. That's the point I was trying to make.
Too fight that many top fighters back-to-back and not lose would be very difficult so not out of the question he could of lost Ward hasn't really fought anybody with fast hands or speedy footwork and other than Bika noone that can fight in close quarters his resume is pretty weak when put against Froch.
There were circumstances that favored Ward and not Froch in there only head-to-head match up(Kessler) but all will be settled soon...
Dude, cut it out. Ward would box his ears off. All Taylor did was fight and his defense was just bad.
just like Hopkins boxed his ears off because Taylor is that one dimensional right
Quick question: I know Andre has fought all of his fights in the US and the majority in the Oakland area. But has he really benefited from hometown judging and refs?
All of his fights have been wipeouts and really no opportunity for any controversy or home-cooking to help him. I think people are reaching
fighting in your home town is an advantage even if its not a close decision also the Kessler fight would have been a different fight in Denmark imo I still favor Ward but it would have been a closer fight
Taylor could beat Ward at 168? Really? The same Taylor who couldn't handle Pavlik's 'boxing' at 168? SMH.
he couldn't handle pavlik's boxing? he got pressured and pushed, same thing in the froch fight, his stamina deficiency was exposed
both froch and pavlik(iron chinned individuals) where knockeddown and seriously hurt, taylor was very accurate, even bhop caught some nice ones, and ward is no where near as slick as bhop
Man I can't wait till Ward beats up Froch and see and hear the fans moan, cry and complain.
he is supposed to beat up on Froch he is 3 to 1 favorite I'm hoping for the upset I just wish Ward would've fought outside his comfort zone like the rest of super 6 did
prime for prime Taylor destroys Ward but I never said he losses to him now I said it would have been interesting fight early rounds and I see Taylor giving him some problems

Taylor?
I'm not sure if that's a serious question, but everyone was asking for Taylor to retire "before' the tourny started.
Secondly, I don't see Dirrel or Pascal giving Ward problems.
Well, maybe Dirrel, but I don't think Pascal will.
yes, AFTER froch beat the fukk outta him
i would be very very very confident in ward getting stopped vs dirrell and taylor

Would this mean Ward fighting away from home?
Andre definitely out of his comfort zone.
Johnson: Atlantic City, Win for Ward UD
Abraham: Finland, Close UD for Ward
Kessler: Denmark, Kessler by DQ
Dirrel: Home fight, Ward UD,
Taylor: Connecticut, Taylor UD
Pascal: Home fight, Ward UD
I don't think he would have been DQ'd in Denmark maybe penalized a point but still win a TD also Ward loses to Dirrel even if they fought in his living room Taylor like I said would have been a interesting early on
The quote is just saying when Froch was fighting Pascal Ward was fighting nobodies.
You then go on to not disagree with his point but just put a spin on it to show Ward in a better light, like saying something Froch oposition was just as poor before then.
Except, that's not all it's saying.
Er, not really.
My post was in response to another poster, who said something along the lines of Ward having easy fights earlier in his career as opposed to Froch.
When the fact is, Froch's level of opposition eariler in his career was utterly pathetic. And he has only being fighting Top level opposition since the tail end of 2008. And has only been fighting quality opposition 1 year longer than Ward.
No spin, no nothing. It's not making anyone sound worse or better, just a mere response to something.
It still doesn't change the fact that Froch up to this point on a whole has fought better fihgters than Ward. I have never denied that.
WARD has found fortitude of late early in his career when Froch was fighting the likes of Pascal i think i can see a loss on his record. But dabbling with the "What if" factor here.

It called being a spin doctor. Saying the same thing, "Froch level of opposition is better than Wards", but putting a spin on it to make Froch sound worst making Ward sound not as bad.

Is this a criticism or what? They've both had a similar number of fights if I remember correctly...?

No, it's not criticism. Like I said, Froch has the fought the better fighters.
But saying Ward had the luxury of easier fights earlier in his career as opposed to Froch is wrong considering Froch's level of competition was just as bad as Ward's up until the Pascal fight.
And Froch has only been fighting quality opposition a year longer than Ward.
That's all.
