Anyone still think Khan>Berto? You must be smokin.

I think Khan vs Berto favors Khan slightly more. I think Berto is too plodding at times and he isn't as technically gifted as Peterson is. However I had doubts about Khan vs Ortiz. Now I'd bet the house on Ortiz knocking his azz out.

I never understood how people could confidently pick Khan over Berto when Berto's a much better fighter than Maidana. Maidana TKO 6 Ortiz Ortiz UD Berto Berto>Maidana, but sometimes its a bit more complicated than that.

When did Berto become a pressure fighter? And when did he show any inside game? Styles make fights.

I made a thread a while back about a match up between Khan and Berto where I said the type of pressure Berto would put on Khan with his WW power and hand speed would lead to an beat down of Khan. I was met with laughs and replys that emphatically said Khan would Outbox Berto on the way to a late stoppage or easy UD. Khan was just bullied by Lamont Peterson. He has no answer for constant pressure other than a flurry followed by an damn near all out sprint, or to cover up and let off a shove or to grab his opponents head on the way in and wait for the ref to break it. I will say this again Berto would DESTROY Khan. Khan has no inside game what so ever, and marginal power at best. I dont see any scenario that version of Khan beats Berto. If im trippin someone please expalin to me what it is. Berto has no inside game either, and isn't really a pressure fighter. I think Khan wins, and wins easy. Lamont Peterson is better than Berto.

Berto huffs and puffs in the corner after 4 rounds of applied pressure. Thats the difference right there. His tank is terrible. LOL. The funny thing is this is true. Even in Berto's last fight against Zaveck, Dre started to gas before the fight was stopped. Khan just needs to use his athletic skills to run from Berto for the first 4 rounds, then bang him up with combos.

If he did none of these things he loses,there are more things he needs to fix as well,but let's start there..

All my points on khan in that fight

I think Khan is better than Berto. I think Lamont whoops Berto's ass. I do think that Berto, Khan, Lamont, and Bradley are all good fighters with Bradley most likely being the best.

A good counter right hand and Khan would be done. There is no way he would take em as good as Ortiz. And i am sure berto would land at least one of those kind of clean punches ... cmon Peterson could and also Maidana so berto would Def land some big punches.

I would have said that before the Peterson fight but I think Khan hit him with 700+ punches and he walked through most of them. I'm not sure he has the power to really hurt 147lb fighters? I dont see why not. Berto got hurt against Quintana and Collazo, neither of which are that big of punchers. Peterson, imo, is harder to hit than Berto, since for the most part he keeps a decent, although not amazing, defense in place. Berto would get caught flush more than Peterson, and also would stay in Khan's death zone at midrange...Peterson mitigated Khan's power by stepping closer into range than Khan likes, and his punches didnt usually get full extension. One punch wise I dont think Khan really would hurt Berto. But when someone is bouncing flush shots off your face because you have lacking defense, it adds up real fast. Peterson didnt get hit THAT much against Khan, a lot Khans shots missed or were deflected, and almost all of them, even if they landed, were partially blocked or not flush. but, again, Id have to see how solid Khan looked at WW first.

Khan is a very good offensive fighter, theres no doubt he could hit and hurt Berto. Not to mention Berto is not actually a good pressure fighter at all, all he does is grab once he gets on the inside: Peterson won against Khan primarily by forcing the fight on the inside. That being said, theres a fair chance that Berto would ktfo of Khan, because he is an explosive puncher and Khans chin will never be considered good. Id like to see Khan at WW first. Yes ofcourse, Khans not a bad boxer at all. He has a solid boxing game. It just seems to me has has zero brawling skills which isnt a big problem if you have a jab to keep your opponent out of range to brawl or good defense. But he didnt display any kind of effectivness from his jab against Peterson and his defense is shotty at best. He exposed 3 major flaws. He has no answer for constant pressure, he has no inside offense or defense.(left hook to the body was free all night) he has poor adjustment skills. Maybe we chalk the last one up to Roach since is a trait that has been seen in some of his other fighters but for what ever reason once Khans success from the early rounds went out the window once Peterson adjusted. Khan made no adjustment and simply went into flurry/flight mode. If he is gonna be a top p4p fighter that's something he has to develop. I dont think Berto is that much better than Khans but his flaws can be made up for with his athlethicism and power, thats a luxury Khan dosent have. Roach is lauded for his successes and Khan is still one of them but he has not really not improved Khan's defence. I'm not completely convinced Breidis Prescott wouldn't still bang Khan out of there as Khan leaves himself so open to being hit. I don't think Khan has much business at 147, only Mayweather matches up well with him stylistically. I think a guy like Berto is probably too physical for him.

What's key in that match-up is that Khan is unable to be likely to hurt Berto, if Khan had power like Pacquiao he would be a truly dangerous animal, but sadly he doesn't.
