Seems like the Japanese fighter is facing incredibly tough tests for a novice, has he been a former amateur stand out or a kick boxer or something? Or does his team just have mega belief in him?
He was a two time national champion, apparently he often spars with guys a lot bigger than him, Kamegai (another Japanese prospect, hits very hard & was meant to fight Soto Karrass) etc & handles himself very well.
hes probably one of japan's top 2 or 3 prospects and a lot is expected of him. he was national champion btw, which is a bif deal in japan since thier program rivals that of any other country in the world. my advice would be not to sleep on him, he may be one of the best fighters u see come out of japan.
Did he have any international success as an amateur or was it "just" national success?
