It was the best fight I saw this year, it had the most consistent high level action. Berto-Ortiz is very overrated. The second half of that fight was boring.

With kirklands lack of defense and being chinny, if you would've told me he would survive getting dropped and then viciously attacked by angulo and still survive i'd laugh

Berto-Ortiz is overrated as hell. It was a good fight but not anywhere near Linares-DeMarco. The sole reason why it is also up there for round of the year is because of the FLASH knockdown Ortiz scored. The drama in that round happened in the last minute and a half of round 6. Kirkland-Angulo round 1 was much more brutal. Kirkland gets KNOCKED DOWN in the first 30 seconds of the round. After that, it's non-stop punches and pressure for Angulo for a minute and a half trying to stop Kirkland. Angulo tires, and then Kirkland starts pummeling Angulo with power punches until he collapses into the canvas. No flash knockdown, no lucky punch, ...this was crazy action for nearly the entire 3 minutes with several power punches being thrown by big time punchers. I also don't think Angulo-Kirkland was fight of the year. Outside that first round, Angulo wasn't competitive. Linares-Demarco was good. I'd put that up there. Linares winning the fight on the scorecards, DeMarco hurting him and turning his face into a bloody mask, goes in for the kill for a late round stoppage and DeMarco gets a come-from-behind victory. Brutal...

Better than Berto-Ortiz rd 6?. Emmanuel Steward's "OH MY GODDD" was EPIC!.. Steward belting that one out is one of those iconic boxing moments for me, i wont forget it... Ortiz vs Berto might well get my vote for FOTY, certainly better than this weekends top class action.

Angulo vs Kirkland was right up there. Defo round of the year for me. The first round gets my round of the year vote. Round 6 (both exchanged KD)? Of the Berto vs Ortiz gets my second.

Arce vs WV2 is my first vote Berto vs Ortiz is my second. DeMarco vs Linares was better than this fight. But it was a good fight nonetheless.

There must be like a dozen better fights, Hernán Márquez vs Luis Concepción, Berto vs Ortíz, DeMarco vs Linares... even Lemieux vs Alcine this weekend was better lol.

That fight had everything but knockdowns. Two guys going at it, each one proving themselves worthy of winning. That atmosphere was great and the fight changed tides several times. Some people are upset because the referee may have been too involved but that's boxing. I know Froch v. Ward is still a week away but for me last night's fight is the one to beat for FOTY. What's your FOTY so far and what's your case for it? Hmmm no. Not nearly as good as Berto/Ortiz, Wolak/Rodriguez 1 or Marquez/Concepcion 1.
