After Ortiz drew with Peterson, people just assumed it was because Ortiz wasn't a very good fighter, and as a result he was a big underdog going against Berto at 147. So when he decisively beat Berto, people immediately began to say he was just a better fighter at 147.
Now that Peterson has 'beaten' Khan, have some of you changed your mind?
IMO Peterson > Berto. Opinions?
Oh btw, Khan will be back with a vengeance. The trouble with boxing is when you get these types of fights with two young in their prime fighters going against each other, the loser (even if it's razor close) gets written off as garbage. Khan seems to be that guy right now.
... and that is exactly why these kinds of fights don't happen very often i'm afraid
Props to Peterson for offering an immediate rematch, true champ
Disagree, Peterson just covers up until he gets in range, and he doesn't throw with the opponent. Ortiz's punches r also shorter, and carry more pop (much more)... The reason Peterson looked good in that fight was becuz Ortiz was the one trying to box, and we all know he can't
Ortiz is a bull rusher,Peterson's jab was the difference in his fight with Ortiz..That and the fact he could box on the inside,Ortiz was confused,He was not trying to box...

Ortiz actually fought, Khan ran, pushed, pulled, and said he was out "boxing" Peterson, lol

Seeing how Lamont has done his last tow times out, against Cayo (a solid fighter) and Khan (a really good fighter), Ortiz' stock should rise a bit. In my opinion, Ortiz beat Peterson, deserved the decision.
So, if you factor into the fact that it seemed Ortiz deserved the decision over Peterson and that one of Ortiz' 2 losses before the Floyd fight was a DQ for hitting a guy on his way down, Victor Ortiz' record going into the Floyd fight really should have been 31-1-1, not 29-2-2.
I still say Ortiz and Khan will both be good fighters, solid top contenders, for the next 6-7 years or so.

then why was peterson getting killed on the inside and was just fighting ortiz on the outside the entire second half of the fight
Look at my sig,you are wrong...Peterson fought Ortiz like a wild man the second half of the fight, inside and out...
Ortiz is not an amazing, or even good, inside fighter. Peterson is at least twice or three times the inside fighter Ortiz is.

Ortiz would absolutely destroy Khan... Khan has no inside fighting (which Oriz is amazing at) and Ortiz has the power to drop u even if u had a good chin, which Khan really doesn't (although, its not as bad as people think)...
Obviously Khan can outbox Ortiz, but if he can't keep Ortiz off him (which I guarantee he can't) he's gonna get destroied
Assuming the ref gives him the chance

Ortiz an match him in the speed department & has bigger power, stronger guy, what happens when Khan does the Cotto & backs up to the ropes & just shells up? Night night time.
Not sure about speed... but i can agree with the other points you make

I learned, no I should say, my beliefs of Roaches fighters this last couple of months have been strenghtened. They are simply rated too high. Unreasonably too high.
Ortiz was always better than Khan, IMO
Hmmm, not sure about that. We'll find out soon though - i'm pretty sure that fight will happen in the next year or two. They're both with GBP and it's always felt like they've been destined to meet at some point
