EVERY single fight that is close is a "robbery". It's only natural, boxing fans are more rabid than ever these days when there are fewer and fewer fans and more and more simple nuthuggers, sackswingers, and bandwagon riders(dickriders).
The truth is, EVERY SINGLE FIGHT that is close will always be called a "robbery" by the side whose man lost.
This was not a robbery why? Well simple because the phantom point deductions were over ridden by the fact that Peterson was also ruled a false knockdown that was not a real knockdown where I believe he tripped over Khan's leg so that cancels out one of the point deductions. The other can easily be argued turns the fight into a draw, or simply that Khan was holding his head down a lot anyway and is lucky he did not get deducted for that.
Simple result: No robbery, go cry some more you butthurts.
:spankme::bottle:
Dude the reason he was gassed is because he was eating punches all night while chasing Amir around. No conditioning coach is going to fix that.
He gave his all, but let's not pretend he's better than he is.
It's like Roach said, Ricky Hatton was in the fight for 6 rounds. Go tell him you know more about boxing.
Peterson only won 4 rounds, he was outdone in the rest (you can call the final round even if you want to take the b/s pushing crap into account)
1.) I concede that he was gassed from chasing Khan all night. But that means you admit that Khan ran most of the closing rounds. Thanks for that.
2.) I don't know more about boxing than Freddie Roach - I just score fights better than him, apparently. And how does his opinion of the scoring of that fight matter? He hates Floyd, and fears him more than anything on planet Earth.
The only thing that kept Hatton in that fight was his footwork, which is highly underrated, IMO. Take that away, and he'd have been dusted off long before he actually was.
But like I said - You had Hatton winning on the cards at the time of the KO.
That alone is reason enough to hand in your "unofficial judge" license, and STFU about close fights.
I was chatting it up with some fellow boxingscene'rs on facebook tonight after the fight, and I said something similar.
Imagine if Lamont Peterson had a conditioning coach as good as Ariza or Hernandez, if he had the energy level to fight the final two rounds like he did the 7th and 8th?
We wouldn't even have to deal with these twits shouting "robbery" right now, as it would have been utterly academic.

Didn't you also have Ricky Hatton winning or in a tie with Mayweather at the time of the KO?.

One thing I don't want to see Khan fans ***** about at least one point being taken. Kahn deserves at least one point taken away. He pushed Peterson's head down and held over and over again.

Your scorecards are as laughable as Lederman's.
And even HE had tonight's bout close on the cards.
LMFAO! owned :dunce:
Peterson won no more than four rounds. He won rounds 3, 4, 7 and 8 - the rest were all Khan rounds.
says the moron with a Hatton avatar. :bottle::bottle:

Your right it was very close and the knock down wasn't a knock down. Khan was being bullied by Khan, imagine what Bradley or Ortiz do to him?

lol 8 to 4. wipe the semen stains from your glasses son. even lederman mostly had it even

constant headbutts to the chest?
Seriously????
So Khan couldn't take advantage of a guy giving him a head to uppercut and Lamont is the bad guy? lol
Also Lamont did get talked at by the ref on more than one occasion but he quickly rectified what he was doing so he wouldn't get ducked points. Something Khan did not!
QFT.
I'm not a "fan" of either dude. I mean, I respect them both, but I mean "fan" in the sense that I cheer for either of them whenever they fight.
No bias here whatsoever tonight, and I felt Peterson won it by a point.
As did skysports : The network that shamelessly sucks Khan's penis for profit.
That right there tells you all you need to know about how close the contest actually was.
Forget this "robbery" bullshit. This was way closer than Khan fans are admitting.

it wasn't even that close though.
8 rounds to 4 and a knockdwon and you lose ?
Thats a massive robbery.

funniest thing to me was how quickly david gaye disappeared from the ring when the decision was announced :lol1: last time i seen him bolt that fast was when klitschko was in the ring with him
exactly, throw both the joke deductions out but also throw the joke 'knockdown' out as it wasn't a knockdown so it mostly evens out and the fact that Khan WAS holding peterson's head nonstop more than makes up for it.
Keep in mind I'm completely unbiased as I have zero horses in this race, i.e. i'm not a particular fan of either Khan NOR peterson and couldn't give 3 ****s less WHO the **** won cus I think they both suck though they both proved warrior hearts, and Khan proved to me he has a monster chin tonight

Where were Peterson's instructions after 3 lowblows and constant headbutts to the chest?
Only person I saw getting shouted down was Khan. That ref completely ignored Lamont's many illegal moves.
Utter bias. Go watch the fight again if you don't believe me.
I thought that the ref was doing a good job because if you look at the fight, it was Khan who was pushing, holding AND holding Peterson's head down throughout the fight.
Peterson was coming in with the head low at times but there were times where Khan was holding Muay Thai style behind the head to control him.
As far as the deduction, I wouldn't have done it but he did warn him and tell him a point would be coming soon even though the HBO crew did not hear it or report it.
I will add the HBO crew's bias is out of control, we get you have to support the Golden Boy fighter but that was ridiculous.
It goes both ways. For one no matter how you look at, at the very least 1 point should have been taken away from Khan. Second, that knock down shouldn't have been counted, so the 2nd point deduction equalized everything.
So stop bitching guys.
anybody who THINKS the ref handed Peterson that win should actually be saying Khan handed Peterson the win. He was the one ignoring the ref's commands over and over and over and over about pushing and holding. Frankly Khan was lucky he only got ducked 2 points for failing to follow instructions.

you just discredited and disproved your own argument entirely. if he was hit AS he was going down from a TRIP, that means he was ALREADY going down from a TRIP which means the initial reason for the FALL is a trip and thus it's a trip not a knockdown. thanks for owning yourself :bottle::op:
i guess u completely missed out where i said a PUNCH LANDED AT THE SAME TIME!! but its ok i can see how u would overlook that. trip or not its a knockdown cuz he got hit by a punch...u look real dumb for even sayin what u said...let me write this in caps so u understand and dont over look this again! IF U TRIP AND GET HIT BY A PUNCH AS UR GOING DOWN, ITS A KNOCKDOWN...IF U GO DOWN AS A RESULT OF A PUNCH, ITS A KNOCKDOWN. IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR UR DUMBASS?
