“Martinez said Manny Pacquiao is working his business by picking boxers he knows he can beat and are pretty close to retirement. He is picking guys that are easy to beat so when you do this, it isn’t hard to be pound-for-pound and, if we fought I would beat him by knock out.”

He might as well change his nickname from Maravilla to "Bumbilla" since he loves lighting up bums. :lol1:
Fact is, this guy hasn't fought a legit opponent ti'l 2009 in which he got a draw against Cintron and loss against PWill http://dl.dropbox.com/u/917396/lol.gif That's 12 years of boxing fighting nobodies. His best win is against a shot Kelly Pavlik whose already been beaten by a 68 year old Hopkins. And now he's calling out the top 2 Welterweights Pac and Mayweather who he thinks he can easily beat, he'll probably beat Pac cause of his poor defense and height/weight disadvantage but this guy has no chance of beating Mayweather at all. 0. Not hating just saying.
Funny. Go look up when Chavez fought his first decent opponent. You'll be surprised.
Who gives a shit about chavez jr? Even mexicans thinks he's a bum.
If only he didn't fought a bunch of Cameroonian bums and fought some quality oppositions, he'd be earning millions per fight by now and he won't be needing to beg for a fight with the top welterweights. :dunno:
its cuz hes not with bob arum.lou dibella has no power.
He became a pro in 1997. Floyd in 96, Pac in 95,
On his 47th fight Martinez finally fought his first decent opponent Cintron.
No wonder he's unknown prior to his win against Pavlik.
The time when he fought Cintron, Floyd and Pac are already on their way to ATG status.
Funny. Go look up when Chavez fought his first decent opponent. You'll be surprised.
hate that it has to come to this b/c I really like maravella but why does he even matter anymore. he's done everything in his power to destroy all momentum he established.
fuk him. i want to see floyd fight him at 154, but really it would only happen if floyd was really trying to prove himself against the best, and we all know how that story ends..........

sergio at 150 is a joke so why even talk about a pac fight...
Floyd probably thinks he will lose, but even at 154 Floyd will school him no doubt. Martinez will be lucky enough if he wins a round or 2. Pac on he other hand will get knocked out ala Duran-Hearns. :fingersx:
this guy martinez is the middleweight champion of the world and wants to pick on floyd who is on his 5 division and manny who is in his 8th or 9th division. If martinez called out anybody else at 147 that's not name pacquiao or mayweather he would be getting ripped universally, but since its pacquiao and floyd the two most polarizing fighters in the sports he gets a pass.
If martinez wants money and legacy so much he should do the proper thing and move up to 168 already. But since he is a hypocrite who wants big paydays with the least risk, he wants floyd and manny. The difference is floyd and manny already put the work in much earlier in their career and are established great fighters and stars of the sport who have earned the right to call the shots and pick and choose while sergio hasnt.
Exactly.
If it's Sergio begging for a fight with 147 pounder Malignaggi, people will shit on martinez for the rest of his career.
Now he's begging for a fight with 147 pounder Pac and Floyd, Pac and Floyd are ducking him. :dunno:
A boxer wanting a big payday? NO....THIS CANT BE!!!

So in other words, they'll fight at those weights only if the opponent isnt as good as Sergio the Bum?
No. That mean's they will fight at the weight they belong to - 147. If you think Pac and Floyd belongs to 154 or 160 then sure.. :biggthump
You're comparing an unknown Sergio Martinez to the current Pacquiao? :pat:
He became a pro in 1997. Floyd in 96, Pac in 95,

It would be better and more significant than any of Pacquiao's last 4 or 5 fights.
if pac beats martinez at 150lbs people will write it off because of the catchweight. i'd prefer pac fight martinez above 150lbs, but again pac can't make 150+ lbs. he can't even make above 147 during weigh-in.
i'm not saying pac can't fight martinez at 150, but how significant of a fight would that be? not that much. people will just ***** and moan about the 150lb catchweight. plus pac is too small to weigh above 150lbs..during weigh-in or fight night.
It would be better and more significant than any of Pacquiao's last 4 or 5 fights.
And who cares if he does?
Why cant Pacquiao fight him again?

I don't like how desperate Martinez comes off in his pursuit of Mayweather and Pacquiao, but since he's gotten his chance at the big time he has consistently fought very good competition. Darren Barker was bad, but that was one fight.
Any news on his next opponent? I remember hearing something but never seeing if it was finalized.
Mayweather,Pac and Cotto are not on his weight class. Martinez is a Middleweight.
Hes really a junior middleweight who moved up to 160 to get bigger fights.
I dont understand half of what you said.
Why cant Pacquiao fight him at 150 again?
sorry if you cant. But Pac said already he is willing to fight him at 150.
Back to the topic, is Martinez hypocrite based on his press releases?
